I think you can look at this a few ways. But having spent an insane amount of time studying the frame-by-frame movement of Mark of the Ninja, and then trying to replicate that in Unto taught me so much about animation, gamefeel, and ultimately just how freaking hard it is to match something of the high quality and execution.
If you can come up with truly original stuff on your own, great, but studying the masters and then making it feel like your own is, I think, a very smart practice and something that many of todays masterpieces and masters do and have done :).
If you're struggling to make progress on a game, the best advice I have is to just sit down and do something. Anything. The smallest thing you can think of. Sit down and start doing it. When I feel tired, frustrated or unmotivated I find that simply starting gets things rolling.
@CrimsonBroom Congrats! ⚔️❄️🍻
If you're looking for more content, there are two other endings and a unlockable gameplay mode. If you have any questions about it let me know!

I beat it!😎
I liked the combat and the feeling of a tense, dangerous world around. What stands out is that you have the option not to get into conflicts with everyone but to walk away peacefully.
I recommend 🔥

@evilnoob@guybrushspace We parted ways with our publisher. We asked them to transfer the title to us, but there was all sorts of hassle with it. Unfortunately this meant we had to delist it. Wish it wasn't the case.
Best place to grab it now is on Steam:

#indiedevhour I made a game where killing can be mastered or skipped entirely. After nearly three years I'm updating it again.
It's defense-first; blocking rather than rolling. It doesn't hold your hand. Every opponent is a challenge.

A nice one to wake up to…
“A truly wonderful game. Don't make the mistake of thinking it's some kind of slash-em-up … Combat is incredible, probably the best I've experienced in a sidescroller.”
