One of UNUM’s program sites is located in Jicamapa, a town in the county of Ipala, in the state of Chiquimula. It’s a part of the region known as the “dry corridor”. The area often experiences drought or too much rain, creating a harsh environment where crops don’t flourish.

Ipala is one of seven counties within this region with very high rates of extreme poverty and malnutrition.

It’s not that it’s impossible do things alone, but that our lives, communities and the people we serve are better off when we’re working and learning together.
