#backroomsfilm is an impressive debut from Kane Parsons, originating on the internet and in his own web series. Finding the creepiness in large, empty office spaces, this unsettling feature maybe rans out of ideas towards the end but there's plenty to like here.

John Carney's latest is another crowd pleaser with Paul Rudd & Nick Jonas both on great form in the leading roles. #PowerBallad

#Tuner is an entertaining first fiction film from Canadian documentary filmmaker Daniel Roher, about a piano tuner who finds himself caught up with a gang of thieves in New York

Lot of buzz about #Obsession and I can see why - a smart horror movie that delivers on its premise with as much intrigue in the themes it explores as in the horror aspects. @Indenavarrette is a revelation!

The conclusion to perhaps the best trilogy you've never seen, 'Eagles of the Republic' is the 3rd and final film in Tarik Saleh's Cairo trilogy about state corruption in different aspects of Egyptian society, starring regular collaborator Fares Fares as an actor blackmailed into becoming a propaganda tool for the regime.
Highly recommend this film as well as its predecessors (The Nile Hilton Incident and Cairo Conspiracy/Boy From Heaven)!

#Normal is exactly what I expected and that was just what I was after, in Bob Odenkirk's latest venture into Neeson action man territory

Ian McKellan is on sparkling form in Steven Soderbergh's #TheChristophers , ably assisted by Michaela Coel in this enjoyable black comedy-drama

Not sure I really understood much of #RoseofNevada but I think I enjoyed it - striking, atmospheric cinema from Mark Jenkin in any case!
https://t.co/1viLB1Sj5a
#TheWizardoftheKremlin covers a lot of interesting ground and Jude Law is a surprisingly good fit for Putin, but overall this is a pretty flawed, scattershot film and poor Paul Dano is badly miscast in the central role
https://t.co/axnKpR7kbU
Brazilian cinema is having a bit of a moment and I enjoyed 'The Blue Trail', a dystopian drama that follows an elderly woman who sets off on an Amazon river quest to avoid a government enforced mandatory relocation for the elderly

Indifference is much the point of Francois Ozon's 'L'Etranger', but that also describes my enjoyment of this gorgeously crafted, yet purposely cold adaptation of Albert Camus well regarded novel

#TheStranger#Letranger
#FatherMotherSisterBrother is the latest Jim Jarmusch film that I've came away from thinking 'that was OK, but nothing special'. Maybe I'll need to finally get round to checking out his earlier stuff!

#CaliforniaSchemin retells the very entertaining story of how a Scottish rap duo almost made it big by pretending to be American. Directed by James McAvoy in his feature debut & supported by excellent performances from his young cast, this is a cracking little film!

#LaGrazia finds Paolo Sorrentino at his most thoughtful with regular leading man Toni Servillo as good as ever as an outgoing Italian president forced to reckon with some big moral decisions ahead of the end of his term

@Gibboanxious I was worried he'd died seeing this. An underrated filmmaker for sure - I love all of your top 3 to be fair, but would have master and commander and dead poets 2 and 1
@NextBestPicture Great top 2. Must say very shaky on the rest, noting differences between UK and us release schedules. To pick one, find it hard to have ready or not 2 in a top 10, given how big a step down it is from the first film
