I honestly expected more from Ronaldo Nazário.
Not because he has to call Cristiano the GOAT, but because legends should know better than to reduce another legend’s career to one tournament.
Saying Cristiano can still play in Saudi Arabia but the World Cup is a different story isn’t some groundbreaking analysis—everyone knows the World Cup is the highest level of international football. The real question is: why is Cristiano the only player whose entire legacy gets judged by what he does at 41?
Nobody asks if Messi’s entire career depends on another World Cup. Nobody says Pelé’s legacy disappeared because he got older. Nobody talks about Maradona as if his greatness expired with age.
Yet with Cristiano, every conversation becomes, “Can he still do it at the World Cup?” Why? Because the standards for him have always been different.
This is a man who has spent over two decades proving people wrong, adapting to different leagues, different managers, different teammates, different systems, while breaking records almost everywhere he has played.
If Cristiano has a great World Cup, people will say, “It’s only because of his teammates.” If he doesn’t, they’ll act like it erases everything he has accomplished. That’s not analysis—that’s selective criticism.
I respect Ronaldo Nazário as one of the greatest strikers ever, but I expected a more balanced take from someone who understands how difficult it is to stay at the top.
Cristiano doesn’t need another World Cup to validate a career that has already inspired generations.
Siuuuuu.

If you’re not with me in war times, don’t show your face when my sun shines
I love how this World Cup has exposed a lot of fake Ronaldo fans, please stay on that side. You never loved Ronaldo
When it comes to Messi vs. Ronaldo conversations, you don’t need to make logical arguments. Just stick to banter or tweet your opinion and move on, because the moment you try to have a logical conversation using facts, figures, and context, most Messi fans will eventually resort to insulting you.
You might prefer Messi because he has more league titles than Ronaldo. I prefer Ronaldo because he has won league titles in England, Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia.
You might prefer Messi because he has won the most Golden Boots in history. I prefer Ronaldo because he is the highest goalscorer in football history. He has also scored at least 100 goals for every club he has played for.
You might prefer Messi because he won the World Cup. I prefer Ronaldo because he won five Champions League titles with two different clubs. You need seven games to win a World Cup; you need 13 to win the Champions League. He also won it three times in a row.
You prefer the player with eight Ballon d’Or awards an award voted for by around 100 journalists worldwide. I prefer the player who won five Ballon d’Ors despite not being the media favourite.
You see? It’s all about context. It’s based on preference. You prefer a playmaker; I prefer a goalscorer who decides games.
A lot of Messi fans will insult you simply because Ronaldo is your GOAT. To save yourself the endless back and forth, either stick to bantering with them or tweet your opinion and move on. They’re not ready to see the debate from the angle some of us see it, and that’s fine.
Viva Ronaldo. 🐐

After all that, I still choose RONALDO as the GREATEST OF ALL TIME… You think I was blind?
I didn’t accept Messi those days, and you think because of a 7-game tournament and 2 assists against England I’ll change my mind? 😂
If I’m the only one left who still sees Ronaldo as the GOAT, then so be it o.
Like I should turn my back on a 41-year-old Ronaldo who gave me so much joy for yearsss just because Portugal can’t play at the level Argentina plays. Lmaooo!
GOAT jor 🧏🏽♂️
I've been on here and I'm seeing Ronaldo fans decamping and I'm not even surprised.
No wonder they call us glory hunters.
Y'all stay on that Lane,forever.👍
Cristiano aveiro dos santos Ronaldo 🇵🇹🐐 till the very end.
Defending champions, Argentina secured an Argentina vs Switzerland victory after defeating Switzerland 3-1 in the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals. The Argentina vs Switzerland clash ended after extra time, sending Lionel Messi’s side into the semi-finals. Argentina will now face England in a blockbuster last-four encounter.
Argentina made a dream start through Alexis Mac Allister. The midfielder headed home from a perfectly delivered Lionel Messi corner. Switzerland responded with determination and found a second-half equaliser to force extra time.
However, the match changed after Breel Embolo received a red card. Switzerland continued battling despite playing with 10 men for the remainder of the contest. Their resistance eventually faded as Argentina capitalised on the numerical advantage.

Supporting women doesn’t mean defending every action taken by a woman simply because she is a woman. That’s simply selective silence.
As women, we keep fighting hard for seats at decision making tables, leadership positions and professional respect. We should neither applaud the public humiliation of another woman nor that of a man. Human dignity is a universal human right.
The CalBank branch manager deserved respect. Not because she’s a woman, but because she’s a human being. The fact that the person involved is also a woman makes it even more disappointing.
If we expect men to treat women in leadership with dignity, then women in positions of power, like Okaikwei North MP Theresa Lardi Awuni, must hold themselves to that same standard.
Respect is the minimum standard of leadership.
We shouldn’t excuse a conduct like this in the name of sisterhood. Holding women accountable is never about betraying women. It’s believing that women are just as capable of exercising power well or poorly.
