@HubbJoanne@elonmusk The 44B won’t be burned; it won’t cease to exist. It’ll be paid to the existing shareholders of Twitter in some form. So they can still pass it on to Ukraine if they wish
@elliekaysmith_ It’s possible to be snarky about a poor business decision while respecting its implementation. (I know nothing about CNN+, just replying in the general case)
@SmokeShermDaily @Michael72580901 @DanteJa72813092 @hunterwalk He’s not advocating for anything. He’s describing what already happens. Taxes are a thing
@hereforthecom19 @DavidSacks Help Ukraine through any means that don’t involve direct armed conflict with Russia. Preventing nuclear war depends on being *predictable*. Western line in the sand has always been NATO countries, shifting this in the middle of a conflict is utterly irresponsible.
@michelletandler@AsianDawn4 There is something deeply sick in many levels of society for a scene like this to be possible. I grew up in an extremely poor country, unsafe by many other metrics, but something like this would NEVER have played out. Open social acceptance of theft is next level breakdown.
@MsPhanLearns@michelletandler Your image is an analogy for qualitative differences between students. Some kids have more raw intelligence than others and this matters: quantitative differences. In the following graphic, it’s clear who is getting worse resources? Equity sometimes looks like this.
@MsPhanLearns@michelletandler Take ‘resourcefulness to pursue their dreams’. Equality would give each student the same teaching quality/opportunities, but smarter&harder working ones would still do better in life. Equity would give smarter students worse resources to ‘compensate’. Which do you prefer?
@MsPhanLearns@michelletandler I thought ‘equity’ means identical outcome and ‘equality’ means identical opportunity. Isn’t what you’re describing ‘equality’?
@DanielRegha@elonmusk@JoeBiden Someone who just read Biden’s tweet would assume these are the two biggest figures. Elon provides useful context - at least I found it useful. Re: ‘get a rise out of u’ - nothing in his tweet sounds annoyed.
@cmillerschoop @seanmccormack_@DeanPreston Feeling like your 6 y/o is at any material risk from Covid is on the same level as feeling like vaccines will kill you. Tiny risks, magnified by paranoia, rooted in scientific illiteracy.
@dougydrums @LSaczak @DrRadchenko I believe NATO would act as soon as any NATO country was attacked eg Poland. Putin knows this and therefore would not attack a NATO country. When the line in the sand is clear on both sides, nuclear armageddon is avoided
Be it as it may, getting ourselves in a hot war with a nuclear-armed power may be emotionally satisfying but there is a downside in that everyone ends up dead.
@lauriesmurphy@KevinKileyCA There is no need. The absolute reduction in risk from the vaccine for people this young is basically zero, because their risk is basically zero to start with.
