I’m gonna make this clear as day right.
If I end up being wrong about INEOS and they do succeed I have no problem holding my hands up and saying I was wrong ok, no issue but right now seeing what they are doing, decision making etc nah they ain’t doing anything positive.
Absolutely heartbreaking watching this and seeing Old Trafford knocked down. Cannot understand how fans can't see it never needed to happen and the people responsible are still profiteering from our great club
@utdHarryy the guy needs to spread negativity, if we do well his channel begins to bomb, complained for years about us over spending right now he wants us to over spend too
@Claire_journo 2/2 on the likes of social media and YouTube as an entertainment outlet due to their obvious limitations, plus having YouTube banned will impact that variety of learning styles especially for those kids who struggle in the classroom environment.
@Claire_journo The biggest issue is those kids who are disabled and/or go to a specialised school where friends groups are so divided because they live far away and their only communication is either in school or social media, plus YouTube, with them and their conditions they are reliant on 1/2
@jjfizz@DuncanLindsay Those podcasts are also on Spotify, also YouTube has age restrictions on it too on a lot the stuff they have on it anyway.
Also it operates on an algorithm system which means they’ll recommend it based on your own viewer history etc
@Shannxo 2/2 so things like YouTube are there only way if getting entertainment, or social media is how they communicate with those same school friends etc, plus the big other issue is not every kid learns the same way so YouTube actually helps them figure out things the classroom can’t
@Shannxo My biggest issue is it’s one size fits all approach tbh
There are kids who genuinely need the likes of social media because they may be disabled or have limited access to friend groups at home due to potentially attending a special education school etc, 1/2
@DrRebeccaTidy@grumpyoldfox@writtenoff_mufc As I’ve stated before what about the disabled kids or the ones who’s school is far away and their only friends groups are spread out across the place, social media and YouTube is probably their only real sense of entertainment and community acceptance
@NomisSllim@MillennialZak@MrRoflWaffles There was bad people long before social media, in fact some of the worst people in history were around before it, social media wasn’t what made them monsters they just were, maybe it was the parents maybe not.
They ban this then it’ll be video games next, it always comes around
@NomisSllim@MillennialZak@MrRoflWaffles Have a control option within your broadband provider, allow you to go in via your broadband and turn on and off access to FB, like YouTube can ban certain words in live chat have it so messenger bans and detects certain words, so if said you can then see the conversation etc
@NomisSllim@MillennialZak@MrRoflWaffles I understand that but this is where strong parenting is vital, we learn from a young age what is right and wrong, so why do we assume that stops at a point?.
As a parent your job is to make sure you’ve done a good enough job that your kid knows this.
@NomisSllim@MillennialZak@MrRoflWaffles 2/2 small minority but the point stands kids are some of the meanest most hateful people around at times and so while protecting one set you at the same time are actually causing others to feel incredibly isolated and uncomfortable with who they are, it’s a double edged sword.
@NomisSllim@MillennialZak@MrRoflWaffles Really? Cause the 72 kids in the school I went to experienced bullying, half them were afraid to go to the local shop because of verbal harassment they’d get, ultimately destroying any confidence they would have in actually approaching someone new, yes I’m aware 72 is a 1/2
@NomisSllim@MillennialZak@MrRoflWaffles Which is why there’s a problem, you can’t give a one shoe fits all approach to this, you have to really look at it from a wide variety of perspectives, on average there is a kid who is shy or has problems making friends and sometimes that first communicable on FB is essential
@dakin19@AliceTalksFooty The same way the system failed the kids who struggled to learn the traditional way, not every teacher can teach every kid the same way, YouTube actually helped those who struggled in traditional classroom style learning, plus remember YouTube itself had an age restriction on it
@NomisSllim@MillennialZak@MrRoflWaffles The biggest issue on why I’m against the ban is using my own situation as an example, but also because despite all the bad on them and yes there is sadly a lot of it, there are communities that help kids, such as like LGBTQ, or disability type groups or even parenting groups,
@MillennialZak@NomisSllim@MrRoflWaffles 2/2 most kids in my school were incredible shy due to a variety of different things such as disabilities etc so finding groups on things like fb with ppl who can relate was helpful building friendships etc, plus YouTube at times was the thing that helped with entertainment etc
@MillennialZak@NomisSllim@MrRoflWaffles Don’t get me wrong I can see the reason for a ban I genuinely can but I’ll use my own example here, I went to a non mainstream school where friend groups in it were so divided across the place and social media really became the only source of communication 1/2
