Great job & thanks for your participation! This is a case of serous carcinoma in the ovary. The patient had an elevated CA125, too. Attached are IHC stains. Keep in mind that breast cancer can also present with these 3D cannonball-like structures & vacuolization. #cytology#pathX
Thank you for participating! These are non-necrotizing granulomas. Sarcoidosis and infectious etiologies are on the differential, but don't forget the tumors that can show granulomas (eg. seminoma & Hodgkin lymphoma). Cell block & other examples are attached. #cytology
This is a gastrointestinal stromal tumor, which is positive for DOG-1 and CD117 (c-KIT). Differentials include a leiomyoma (SMA+) and schwannoma (S100+). Thanks for participating!
@nucleololailo This is a case of met. clear cell RCC. The cell block gives away some features of clear cell vs papillary RCC (fine branching vessels > fibrovascular cores). In addition, IHC can help differentiate btwn clear cell (us. CK7-, AMACR-, CAIX+) & papillary (us. CK7+, AMACR+, CAIX-)
@MartinFreedom8 It is an epithelial cell abnormality, but this is a case of LSIL. Kiolocytes are present here. The enlarged nuclei are about 3x that of an intermediate cell. There are other features such as irregular nuclear membranes & nuclear hyperchromasia. Thank you for your participation!
