Circa 1915ish. Fascinating postcard of State Ed Bldg. You can clearly see buildings on lower Washington Ave. opposite Capitol that were demolished in late 1920s for Lafayette Park Albany
The NYS Normal School at Albany on Western c 1910. 1st dedicated bldg at Howard & Lodge 1849; then moved to Willett St 1895 (destroyed by fire 1906), re-built on Western. Became known as State Teacher’s College, now UAlbany.
@albanymuskrat It's a shame what the recent owners did to the place. They ripped everything out and left it wide open. I've been several times and the graffiti and vandalism is getting much worse as time goes on.
