But does the algorithm work to that level right now? No.

Will it ever? Probably not.

If I know that I can watch a 20 minute video instead of scrolling all day, I’ll do the former. This provides a consolidated way for users to catch up on news.

The potential downsides of Twitter News is clear: less engagement from users.

But you hope that maybe a 20 min clip will attract more attention to the platform, thus more users, thus more engagement.

Hell, you could even make the clip interactive for people to engage.

Also consolidating news into a single segment isn’t a new concept. NBC uses this with their “nightly news” youtube video. Problem is, they are left winged and will emotionally wreck their users each night so they come back to watch the next night. It’s unethical.

All that to be said, lots of testing would need to be done if Twitter News could work.

But before anything, you need an idea.
This is just one of those!

He has pulled Twitter from the EU's anti-disinformation agreement which would have required large digital platforms like Twitter to monitor and demonetize disinformation and bots, offer warnings about political advertising and fact-check information.

The law takes effect in August.
