Dear #actors,
I have never seen a casting director seek out the most beautiful actor. They look for faces that tells stories and build worlds! Embrace your differences/quirks/flaws because we do.

Another holiday, another week of trying to explain my job to my very non-industry family
My dad: You should try to get on one of those Disney shows. I hear they’re really taking off
To evaluate a performance’s authenticity watch with the sound OFF.
Bad acting reveals itself instantly and insults you.
This is not a subtweet. I am talking about that murderer kid.
Popping in to say that if you’re not vaccinated, you are probably not being considered for roles. There are too many qualified, vaccinated actors that production doesn’t have the time or resources to offer vaccine exempt actors accommodations.
@RoryWilton@ShakyraDowling I think that’s a very safe blanket policy for an agency because there are some people who don’t know how to be normal about it.
If you feel like your thank you note is pushy/a bother/annoying then don’t send it!
While you’re sharing the love, I speak from personal experience that casting directors, associates, and assistants all love thank you notes. Can you tell it’s gratitude week? 💖😇🤟
#actors Finding a self-tape partner who enhances your performance and doesn’t overwhelm the scene is a gift. We don’t really notice a good reader, but we do notice a bad one. Take a moment this week to send yours a thank you ❤️
@Wida_Karim Too loud, too distracting, maybe making a choice that doesn’t serve the actor we’re supposed to be watching.
On the flip side giving nothing to an actor is just as tough, no one wants to act at a wall!
There’s a special moment in casting where everything just falls into place. After months of searching for the perfect actor for a role, truly thinking we’d never find the one... we did! And the director is happy, studio is happy, I am happy 😊
Happy Friday everyone!
@seb_tomlinson Oh I see, for VO lines I suggest goong full out as if it’s not VO or OC or OS. Again focusing on your performance, maybe they’ll see how great you act it that they change the whole scene to better see you?!
I generally don’t like to see props in self tapes but I especially don’t like to see firearms, knives, or fire! Seeing those makes me nervous to send you to set
@seb_tomlinson Hard to say generally without knowing any details but in my experience your focus as an actor auditioning should be on your performance. Anything extra should only exist to serve the performance
Another day, another white male director looking at a list of diverse actors for a role that doesn’t specify the character’s race or gender.... and choosing the only white male option.
Very frustrating in the year 2021
