Want proof belief can change your body?
Ask someone with anxiety.
Nothing bad has to happen. Your brain only has to believe it might.
That belief can race your heart, dry your mouth and make danger feel real.
Fear can begin with a prediction.
They didn't have a cure
they had a life that didn't require one
constant movement, physical work, purpose, community built into every single day
we removed all of that replaced it with screens, sitting, isolation and processed food then acted surprised when our minds started breaking down
we don't need more medication we need to rebuild the conditions humans were designed to live in.
Once you've lived with it long enough you start recognising the early signs
dry mouth
heart rate picking up
that familiar feeling creeping in
the moment I notice them I name it "this is just anxiety" and instead of becoming it I watch it from the outside
and within minutes it passes
fear keeps it alive understanding takes away its power.
@JakeRammos You don't fix it
you change what's causing it
the life you're living the identity you've built around it the version of yourself you keep returning to
depression isn't the problem it's the result.
@_eoantao You don’t “fight” anxiety or depression.
You’re supposed to listen to it.
It’s your body telling you the life you’re living isn’t right for you.
Most people numb it instead and wonder why it never leaves.
Deep down, you already know what needs to change.
@namjoonbestie2 @ick_real You don’t actually want a solution right now
you just want this version of your life to stop repeating
that’s why everything people suggest
feels either too small
or not quite it
because if it was just about solutions
you would’ve taken one already
They're not just bad habits
they're answers to questions you haven't solved yet
Porn because connection feels unsafe
Alcohol because presence feels unbearable
Junk food because you need something that's just yours
knowing they're fake doesn't make them easier to quit it just makes you feel worse for needing them.
That level of exhaustion is real
but the universe isn't blocking you
you've just stopped believing the outcome could be different
and when that happens blame starts to feel like the only thing that makes sense
the hardest thing isn't changing your life it's admitting you still could
14 years of the same loop means you've been holding onto something
not because it feels good but because letting go feels
like losing the last piece of who you were
the fear isn't that nothing will change
it's that something will and you still won't be happy
but you won't know until you empty the cup
@TwittyFourSeven@SSB_Rick The boredom is just energy with nowhere to go
point it at something anything
work, sport, building something real
the addiction gave you an identity now you get to choose what replaces it
you won't notice the change until you look back and
don't recognise who you used to be
@omgsidewalks There’s a reason why your there
it’s to learn how to pick yourself backup
a second chance to rebuild the life you actually want brick by brick.
@Tramps4T90@SSB_Rick Yes but to find those kinds of friends
you usually have to become the kind of person who attracts them
It’s about becoming the version of yourself that
naturally fits that environment.
@BigStonedBug @ick_real You didn’t go backwards
you just outgrew the version of life that used to feel like progress
beating depression gave you relief
not direction
now you’re awake again
but still living the same script
that’s why it feels pointless
