Guelph's Report a Problem Map got a fresh, user-friendly update last week. Potholes / parking / playgrounds, snap a pic, and submit. Here: https://t.co/uA2QtBQgKK #gis#arcgis
Guelph is officially an Urban Growth Centre on Ontario's Priority Transit Corridor network. Plus there's a conceptual high-speed rail (Windsor to Quebec) corridor through the city.
The province expects us to plan accordingly with transit-supportive development. Time to build up, not out. π
The @cityofguelph is partnering with the GRCA @grandriverca to acquire 126+ acres along Niska Rd (including the former Kortright Waterfowl site) for future restoration and trail access. π
Major step toward new parkland + protected greenspace #Guelph! π
Council just approved buying Yorklands (OR) land along York Road for highway widening right-of-way. Ties to Phase 4 rebuild + supporting Guelph Innovation District growth! Thnx @UrbanParkGuelph for sharing #guelph
#Guelph's promised daytime drop-in for the unhoused? Dead before it started. Supposed to open this week, but no deal, no space. Now city staff are scrambling.
Guelphβs 2026 user fees are up an average 2.25%
- water jumps 42Β’/mΒ³ to $2.63
- stormwater hits $11.20/mo (+$1.20)
- waste disposal climbs to $173/tonne.
- parking 24/7 paid citywide (2 hours free)
- building permits pricier too.
User fees or higher taxes? #UrbanGrowth costs.
