PUN stands against this terrible blockage of much needed new affordable housing.
The residents of Rhode Island are experiencing high rents, high housing prices, and high utilities. Rhodies need housing.
I would like to thank the Johnston Town Council for granting me the authority to go forward with eminent domain on the 252 unit, 100% low-income housing site. Rest assured, we will provide our first responders and residents with the 21st century facilities they deserve.
PUN is posting a public letter to @JosephPolisena in opposition to his attempt to prevent the construction of 255 affordable units in Johnston.
The housing market is connected in all of Rhode Island. Combating the housing crisis is a team effort!

Lets build! 🔨
"We're celebrating a comprehensive plan that was shaped by thousands of voices, guided by the experience of residents, and driven to meet the urgent needs our city faces." - City Council President Rachel Miller at the signing of Providence's new comprehensive plan.
Thank you @PVDMayor, @pvdcitycouncil and @CityofProv for signing the city’s new Comprehensive Plan today!
PUN members worked endlessly in supporting the up-zoning and parking minimum changes which will help our city grow. We were proud to show support!
Let’s get building!
@FoxPointSteve@JohnGPVD The councilman did a very good job of trying to balance community concerns about parking and waterfront access, and recognizing that this project is “by-right,” and that the city needs more housing!
Last night PUN members attended @JohnGPVD’s community forum to voice support for a nearly ~300 unit apartment building in Wayland Square.
Steve’s comment couldn’t have said it better: we need housing at ALL price points! 🔨 💰 🏠
