Vote NO on Prop 36! As the election quickly approaches, it’s urgent that we vote for the safety and care of our communities. Prop 36 is a harmful measure that will only further marginalize and criminalize Black and Latinx communities and expand mass incarceration.
The passing of Prop 36 would redirect funds back into punitive measures and the carceral system. It will also strip vital funds from community-based solutions, such as diversion, mental health, drug treatment, and housing—solutions that have a track record of creating safety.
Gun violence is preventable. We cannot accept this as the norm for our young people. Our hearts are with the Apalachee High community. Everybody deserves safety. #EndGunViolence
It’s been less than a month since school started again—four people were shot and killed and nine wounded by gun violence. Schools should be a safe place for students to learn without fear of violence.
This week, we honor @UrbanPeaceInst
Urban Peace Institute works to end injustice, violence, and oppression of people who have been historically criminalized and marginalized.
By dismantling harmful systems and creating community safety, they further their mission of every individual experiencing a life of peace, hope, and power.
