@KingTargaryenn In a lot of cases now even with the cd you don't really have ownership of the game. It's just a means to save on big data downloads, but the game still gets tied to your account on activation and isn't transferrable. Consoles by and large have become so predatory.
@TheoryWiseOS I personally love the way they've designed newer content like Yama and the Titans, where you're clearly incentivized to group up, but you can solo with more effort. Making it impossible or near impossible to solo cuts a portion of the playerbase out for no good reason
@feederofcats Honestly, you probably shouldn't trust a rescue that would just adopt out an animal to you no questions asked. If you'd be embarrassed at a person seeing your place, you should also be embarrassed to put an animal there
@dacoydaheath16 Agreed, only really excited for Morty, and maybe the boss weapon. Not so much for another skilling minigame and even more niche single use stuff taking up bank slots. We coulda had sea gnomes
@Meliodas5271@1stSonofZebedee@GinoHard_@FriedgeHNIC Yes, famously only the rich have access to drones, tools that have revolutionized modern war because of how cheap and widely available they are. I have a feeling this is civil war thing is going to go really well for you man
@Meliodas5271@1stSonofZebedee@GinoHard_@FriedgeHNIC Truly the only thing stupider would be for 5-10% of the country to go to war with the other 90. But if it happens it will be very fun to be a part of the 90.
@theobjectivist@AugustCohen4 Frozen rent =/= no rent. These landlords own their buildings, maintenance costs and property taxes are their ONLY overheads. They're not going to go bankrupt. They just have to let go of a little bit of their dragon's hoard, and that makes them cry and stomp their widdle feet
@jimstewartson THANK YOU for mentioning that more power =\= better AI performance. We've known for years that LLM's have a saturation point and then severe diminishing returns after. There's so much more to actually optimizing the tech, but these lunatics just want to win too much to care
@NYCMayor@ZohranKMamdani Such normal and well-adjusted people in the comments. Anyway Inea is lovely and I hope she gets the chance to return home someday to a free Palestine.
@Ebbs091@SirMichaelRocks NYC also provides a tax surplus to the state, so Zohran negotiated back some of the difference to deal with the deficit. Even after the ~8b change in funding NYC is still providing a tax surplus to the state of over 10b. It's not a bailout, it's the city keeping more of its money
@Ebbs091@SirMichaelRocks The retirement thing is not accurate, the city is delaying contributions to the pension fund, not taking anything away. With the intention of contributing the difference back later. It's not ideal, but people saying pensioners are losing their retirements are just dishonest
@serraotweets@BonesawMD And while it can help you work on and scale up a good idea, it also does the same for bad ideas, and the barrier to entry is only however much you can spend on tokens. There is a reason why we take our time to make sure things work properly, and that practice is effectively dead.
@serraotweets@BonesawMD I've worked in IT/tech my entire adult life, and it's been easy for me to see that while AI certainly has uses, this complete and utter reliance on it that is already happening is far more damaging than any positive outcomes. In time, you will be unable to do anything yourself.
@serraotweets@BonesawMD Both these things have existed longer than gen AI has, and only the latter relies on AI tech in significant capacity. No surprise that the latter is also far worse.
You're still missing the point though. If AI boosts productivity so much, why are all the gains only theoretical?
