Your friendly neighbourhood environmentalists! We are currently fighting for clean air in Navi Mumbai. Sign the petition linked below and join us on 20th Dec!
#NaviMumbai, we are sick of the consistently high #AQI so we are taking to the streets! We're forming a Human Chain to demand Clean Air at Mini Seashore, Vashi on 20th December from 7-9 AM. We need all the support we can get so pull up, preferably with masks and posters!
Before anyone says “protests are useless”, we have an action plan to back it up. We’re collecting evidence of non-compliance to SOPs, filing complaints and building pressure through media. We also want to file a PIL eventually. But we need Navi Mumbaikars to come together.
Team Urvari wishes you all a very Happy World Environment Day. “May The Forest Be With You”… not just because it's a punny Star Wars reference but because forests are the lungs of our planet and protect them is our duty. This World Environment Day, let’s do our bit for earth!
Imagine Mumbai winters going below 5 degrees all of a sudden. Heaters? Layered Clothing? Never heard of that. We wouldn’t even know where to buy this stuff from (if it was even being sold anywhere that is) because Mumbai was never built for such low temperatures.
“40 degrees is everyday for us, what’s the big deal?” We need to understand the London infrastructure is not built for such high temperatures. Having lived there myself, I know that even owning an air conditioner is considered ridiculous in London.
The people are not prepared for such temperatures, even big stores and malls do not have air conditioning or fans, let alone houses and local stores. Let us also not forget that they have never experienced this before, temperatures barely go over 20 degrees even in peak summer.
As we begin #PlasticFreeJuly, am sharing this video of River Rwizi. Let @CocaCola, @Cocacolauganda see it.
Through their "world without waste" initiative they promised to collect every bottle they sell and turn to refillables.
This shows the've failed. #EndPlasticPollution
