This morning I joined Seven Counties Services to open their new Crisis Centers, giving people in Louisville a walk-in destination for mental health and substance use crises.

I’ve made mental health a priority in my administration, creating the first mayoral Office of Behavioral Health in the country, and I am grateful that people in Louisville can now walk into a facility and get immediate help when they may desperately need it.

Last week, we held the SEC Mayor's Alliance quarterly meeting via Zoom. I spearheaded this alliance in order to strengthen collaboration among SEC college towns and to advocate for shared challenges, emerging issues and best practices within our communities.

Recently, we worked on advancing three core committees that accurately reflect the priorities of our cities: Public Safety & Homeland Security, University Advocacy & Economic Development and Town & Gown Relations.

I look forward to seeing all that we are able to accomplish in the final quarter of 2026.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department's commitment to cutting‑edge technology is strengthening public safety across our community.

Established in 2020 and led by Captain Cory Burns, the Cyber Intelligence Unit is a multi‑faceted investigative support unit that enhances the department's ability to gather, analyze and act on information through an intelligence‑led, data-driven model. This intelligence and analysis helps investigators identify threats, offenders and patterns more quickly and efficiently.

I was glad to deliver soccer balls to Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville as part of the @fifaworldcup 2026 Soccer Balls initiative, which provided 200 soccer balls to every @usmayors member city for free.

Thank you, @fifaworldcup and @usmayors, for giving America’s Hometown the opportunity to be part of this exciting initiative to celebrate the World Cup and get kids active!

ICYMI: Akron launched a down payment assistance program, offering up to $7,500 for eligible first-time home buyers.

Last January in Washington, while I was the President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the President of FIFA visited our mayors’ meeting and pledged to give each American mayor 200 official 2022 World Cup soccer balls for their city.

The balls were expected prior to the 2026 World Cup, but their journey across the world was slowed by the war with Iran. Recently, the balls have finally arrived!

There are 154 public schools located in the city limits of Oklahoma City. We are giving each school a ball and the rest will go to our Parks & Recreation department. We have suggested that each school use their ball for special occasions.

Soccer (football) is the global sport, and OKC is investing in it like never before, with MAPS 4 providing youth soccer facilities and a new professional stadium. These balls from FIFA link our city’s young soccer players and fans directly to that global community.

Bridge to Home helps close funding gaps so affordable housing projects can move from plans to construction.

As we mark the end of summer, Baltimore continues to make historic progress on public safety.

All across our city, our @BaltimorePolice officers and law enforcement partners, @BaltimoreMONSE staff, prosecutors, everyone involved in our community violence intervention ecosystem, and most importantly, everyday Baltimoreans, are showing up for one another in our shared effort to build a safer, healthier Charm City.

Our progress this summer is a testament to all of these individuals—and to the importance of the proven, data- and community-driven strategies that are delivering real results.

Seven new affordable places to call home, more opportunity for families in Smoketown.

This weekend we celebrated the completion of the first phase of the Hancock Street Development, seven vacant turned into places where Louisville families to put down roots, build stability, and invest in their future.

Thank you to the Smoketown Community Land Trust, residents, partners, and community leaders who made this project possible. We’re just getting started!
