We went from $0 to $1m ARR in two months, and it almost never happened.

Here's the story:

When we first started Fastlane, we applied to a startup accelerator in Australia.

The interviewer asked us "where do you see yourself in 3 months?" and we said "in our own office, doing-". But before we even finished our sentence, the interviewer scoffed and said "in your own office?".

Embarrassed, we quickly retracted: " haha, okay, maybe in a garage then". The interviewer said "yeah, that's more likely".

We wrapped up the call not even knowing what to think. We knew that building a startup in Sydney was going to be difficult, but this was on an entirely different level to the basic "tall poppy syndrome" you always hear about.

Our ambition, to simply be in our own office, was cut down the second it was even suggested.

6 weeks ago, we took a bet on ourselves, and flew to SF with practically no plan.

Today, I'm proud to say that in just 2 months, we've crossed $1m ARR building Fastlane.

We have 20,000+ businesses that trust us to help show the world what they've built. We've grown 60%, week on week, for the past 12 weeks straight. We've done 20 million views on product launches in the past week alone.

I'm not writing this to show off, or to brag. I know there's so much more to go, and it feels like we've barely even started.

I'm also not writing this to try shit on Australia. We've had amazing support here from people who genuinely believed in us.

I just want to simply demonstrate what could've happened if we listened to those around us. People can make you feel so small, and I'm so grateful that we didn't.
