The doe and her fawn came out for a late dinner tonight. They won't be happy with me when I cut the grass this weekend. Or perhaps it will give them easier access to the luscious green bits below. Who knows? Regardless, they keep coming back! And they are most welcome!
Mr. Six-Point showed up in the yard tonight with a doe and her fawn. We're not sure which doe and fawn these are, we've quite a few! Definitely not Hoppy.
Setting full moon over campus this morning, out for an early run. To those coming off the night shift who kept us safe and secure overnight, I say may God continue to bless you, sweet dreams. To those coming on shift, welcome to Tuesday! Let's make it count!
Watching the 2007 ACC Championship game in Jacksonville, FL (my first FBI duty station, 1987-1991) on the ACC network. Great Hokie win! First the coaches shook hands, then my most excellent VTPD law enforcement brother Vince Houston shook hands with his BC counterpart. Class!
Our girl "Hoppy" showing Mr. Six Point a thing or two about dining in our yard. Hoppy was spectacular in guarding her daughter from last year and her fawn from this spring, her ears went back right before she charged! You go, girl!!
Another glorious drillfield sunrise on another glorious early morning run on campus. Today I was struck again by how blessed we are at Virginia Tech to have such a beautiful campus and how blessed we are to have the hard working grounds people of @VTFacilities who make it so.
1 never knows what 1 will π while biking the New River Trail. Mike Mulhare, his son Brenden, friend Sheldon & I did a 34 mile ride this morning. There is a picnic shelter 17 miles in where we break & turn back. This lovely lady was enjoying a good fence post rub while we rested!
@UMChief David, you are an inspiration to me. I cannot begin to understand what communism did to you and your family. You are on the front lines every day, not hiding in your basement. May God continue to bless you and yours.
Out 4 early morning run on campus clearing my mind 4 a few moments of all the current madness. Enjoying the sunrise over the drillfield & through the windshield of a VTPD vehicle. I've told my division this academic year will be my last at VT & together we will make it the best!
@suannegardiner@VaTechPolice Love his Penn State shirt! Having grown up north of Pittsburgh, I am a huge fan of Penn State. Too bad COVID-19 ruined the football game this year but looking forward to the Hokie/Nittany Lion match up!
Great day for a Sunday morning hike at The Cascades with VTPD Chief Mac Babb. Parking lot was full. Good to see folks getting out in nature. @VaTechPolice
