Some recoil is expected with a short-stroke gas piston system, but it's generally less than DI (M4/M16) and long-stroke (AK). On paper, the M72 should offer the lowest felt recoil and best controllability. Also, no point looking too much into the video. INS Kolkata, mission deployed in the Western Indian Ocean (around Gulf of Aden) responded swiftly to inputs regarding suspected pirate activity in the vicinity of merchant vessel MV Mashallah 1. Investigation using the helo onboard INS Kolkata as well as boarding operations by the ship's crew. Since 2008, the Indian Navy has maintained a continuous anti-piracy deployment in the Gulf of Aden.
