Analysis based solely on the preserved death certificates (Sterbebücher) is one of the methods of manipulation used by Holocaust deniers, because this documentation covers only a fraction of the total number of victims and does not include people murdered immediately after arrival.

The overwhelming majority of Auschwitz victims, approximately 900,000 Jews, were murdered in gas chambers immediately after arrival, without going through the camp registration procedure. Since they never formally became prisoners, the camp bureaucracy, including the registry office, did not issue death certificates for them.

Even in the case of Jews who were registered as prisoners, the system of documenting their deaths was deliberately restricted. From mid-February 1943, the camp registry office (Standesamt) began to drastically limit, and from March completely stopped, issuing death certificates for Jews brought in mass RSHA transports. This means that Jews who died in the camp after that point do not appear in the death books at all.

In the first period of the camp’s operation, from 1940 to 1941, Poles constituted the vast majority of registered prisoners, and their deaths were then recorded meticulously. Since Christian prisoners were entered into the records more often than Jews, 90% of whom were killed without receiving numbers, their names naturally appear more frequently in the surviving administrative death documentation.

Only around 70,000 death certificates in 48 volumes of death books have survived. This represents only a small fragment of the original documentation, which the Germans destroyed on a massive scale before the evacuation of the camp in order to erase traces of their crimes.

Anyone analysing only the Sterbebücher sees information about only around 70,000 of the 200,000 prisoners who died “inside” the camp system, while completely omitting nearly one million people, mainly Jews, whose deaths in the gas chambers were never recorded in death certificates.

Politico reports, citing a U.S. official and a source familiar with the matter, the trip is tentatively scheduled for October 14–15.

According to the report, Patel is expected to travel first to Moscow and then St. Petersburg, with Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) likely serving as the host.

The purpose of the visit and whether Patel will meet Vladimir Putin or other senior Russian officials remain unclear, and the plans could still change.

The last publicly known visit to Russia by an FBI director was made by Robert Mueller in 2013, Politico notes.

Na súde v kauze Očistec zaznelo jedno z kľúčových svedectiev. Bývalý policajt Bernard Slobodník pred súdom potvrdil, že Gašpar s Bödörom spravili z polície mafie a priznal sa, že on sám bol jej súčasťou.

Slobodník je bývalý šéf Národnej jednotky finančnej polície NAKA a do funkcie mu podľa jeho slov pomohol samotný Gašpar. Slobodník bol tiež v minulosti členom a sponzorom Smeru.

Slobodník pred súdom doslova priznal, že sa viacerých skutkov sa osobne zúčastnil, dostával od Bödöra peniaze a odmietol, že by bol do svojej výpovede niekým tlačený alebo niekým inštrouvaný, ako sa to snaží verejnosti dlhé roky nahovoriť Gašpar s Ficom.

Výpoveď Slobodníka je prvou, ktorá na súde na potvrdzuje, že za Ficových vlád pôsobila v polícii mafia, ktorá slúžila Smeru a riadili ju Gašpar s Bödörom. Po tejto výpovedi je úplne jasné, že by mal Tibor Gašpar okamžite skončiť ako podpredseda parlamentu.
