🇳🇬🪖NIGERIA SF SOLDIER NARRATES HIS EXPERIENCE IN HOSTAGE RESCUE OPERATION IN MAIDUGURI
The call came just before dawn—the kind of silence that feels heavier than gunfire. In Maiduguri, the air always carried tension, but that morning it felt different… like the city itself was holding its breath.
We had intel: a high-value insurgent cell had moved into a cluster of abandoned buildings on the outskirts. Fast, coordinated, and ruthless that was their reputation. But so were we.
As special forces under the Nigerian Army, hesitation wasn’t in our training. We moved in before sunrise, a small tactical unit slicing through the darkness with precision. No noise. No wasted motion. Just purpose.
I remember tightening my grip on my rifle, feeling the weight of responsibility more than the weapon itself. Every step forward wasn’t just for the mission it was for the people sleeping in fear just a few kilometers away.
We breached the perimeter swiftly.
The first contact came sharp and sudden gunfire ripping through the quiet like thunder. But we were ready. Years of training kicked in like instinct. We flanked, communicated in signals, and suppressed their fire before they could regroup.
At one point, I found myself pinned behind a broken wall, bullets chipping away at the concrete inches from my face. My heartbeat was loud but my mind was calm. That’s what courage really is… not the absence of fear, but control in the middle of it.
I signaled my teammate. In seconds, we executed a coordinated push smoke deployed, angles covered, movement synchronized. We closed in.
Room by room, we cleared the structure. The insurgents were desperate, but disorganized. They didn’t expect speed. They didn’t expect discipline. And they definitely didn’t expect us to hit that hard, that fast.
When it was over, the silence returned… but this time, it felt earned.
We secured the area, rescued two civilians they had been holding, and gathered critical intelligence that would prevent future attacks. No unnecessary losses. Mission accomplished.
As the sun finally rose over Maiduguri, casting light over the dust and ruins, I stood there tired, covered in sweat and grit but proud. Not just of what we did, but of who we are.
Because bravery isn’t about being fearless. It’s about standing your ground when it matters most. It’s about moving forward when others would retreat.
And that day, in the heart of Maiduguri, we didn’t just fight…
We protected hopes.
God bless the still breathing 🫡

@Sliimzy12@NGSentinel01@Omojuwa Because we are spiritual beings, we take the scriptural claims as facts — of course this can be criticized
Astrophysics explains that even our observable universe is expanding. There is dark energy (that can't be seen) that's pushing the cosmos apart. Stars are born & can expire
@Mr_Ayantunji@Omojuwa I would say we are exploring our neighborhood. Why do you explore your surroundings? Yeah, that's the reason — and even more scientifically 😀
@grok@Opsyp_84@Omojuwa Describe the tensile strength of these material further. What other material can withstand the hydrostatic pressure? What material do they used for fiber optic cable-laying ships at the very bottom of oceans?
