What exactly is an E20-compliant vehicle? By definition, it's a vehicle engineered to safely and reliably run on E20 fuel. That also implies a non-E20-compliant vehicle is not designed for E20. Otherwise, the term "compliant" becomes meaningless.

So my question to Mr. @nitin_gadkari is simple: Why was E20 fuel rolled out nationwide when most vehicles on Indian roads were not E20-compliant?

If the answer is, "Nothing happens. Non-compliant vehicles can also run on E20," then what was the rationale behind mandating manufacturers to produce E20-compliant vehicles in the first place? Either E20 compatibility is technically necessary, in which case introducing E20 before the vehicle fleet was ready was questionable. Or it isn't necessary, in which case the compliance requirement itself appears redundant.

You can't simultaneously argue that E20 compliance is important enough to mandate for new vehicles, yet claim it doesn't matter because older, non-compliant vehicles can run on E20 anyway.

By the same logic, why stop at E20? Why not go full aatm-nirbhar and switch directly to E100? If compatibility doesn't matter, then non-E100-compliant vehicles should run on E100 too. Clearly, that's not how engineering works. So where exactly is the technical justification?

MNC and IT employees in India pay up to 30% income tax for years. Those earning ₹25 lakh a year can pay roughly ₹25–30 lakh in taxes over 5 years.

But after a layoff, they get no meaningful income support or assistance like workers do in many other countries.

JUST IN: The United States has not built a new oil refinery in fifty years. Fifty. The last one broke ground when Nixon was president and oil cost $3 a barrel.

Trump just announced a $300 billion deal to build one. The largest energy investment in American history. Port of Brownsville, Texas. Groundbreaking Q2 2026. Binding 20-year offtake agreement. Processing American shale crude. Thousands of jobs in South Texas. “The cleanest refinery in the world.”

The lead investor is Indian.

Reliance Industries, controlled by the Ambani family with a 50.39% promoter stake, operators of the Jamnagar complex in Gujarat, the largest single-site refinery on Earth, are the confirmed major foreign partner. Trump thanked them on Truth Social as “our partners in India, and their largest privately held Energy Company” for their “tremendous investment.”

Now hold two facts simultaneously.

India’s Reliance Industries is investing billions in an American refinery to process American shale oil for American energy dominance. India’s government, led by Modi, is simultaneously importing over 40% of its crude from Russia at war-discounted prices, rejected the US “permission” framing for a 30-day Russian oil waiver on 7th March (“India has never depended on permission from any country”), and continues buying Iranian crude via Chabahar port logistics.

The same country. The same week. Building American energy independence with one hand. Buying Russian crude with the other. This is not hypocrisy. This is the Modi Doctrine operating at its highest expression.

Multi-alignment means India does not choose sides. It chooses deals. QUAD membership for security. Russian crude for energy. Chabahar for Iranian access. Reliance capital for American refining. Israeli defence technology for military modernisation. Gulf remittances for 10 million workers. No formal alliance with any power. Maximum leverage with all of them. Every relationship is transactional. Every commitment is calibrated. Every contradiction serves a constituency.

Trump needs the refinery because the Iran war just proved that 50 years without building one left America dependent on foreign refining capacity for products its own shale produces. The Strait of Hormuz did not just close oil transit. It closed the refined product supply chain that feeds American gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and petrochemicals. Building domestic refining capacity is the structural response to Actuarial Warfare: if chokepoints can be closed by insurance spreadsheets, the only defence is not needing the chokepoint.

Ambani needs the deal because Reliance’s Jamnagar complex processes Gulf crude that transits Hormuz. The same Strait that is mined, uninsured, and defended by 31 autonomous IRGC commands. Diversifying into American shale refining hedges against the exact crisis currently paralysing Reliance’s primary feedstock route. This is not philanthropy. It is the world’s largest refiner buying insurance that no P&I club can provide.

The war created the crisis. The crisis created the deal. The deal was signed by the country whose Prime Minister was just given “permission” to buy Russian oil and told America it never asked.

Fifty years. One war. One phone call. And the billionaire who builds it is from the country Washington cannot decide whether to sanction or celebrate.

Rahul Gandhi’s disintegration as a political leader isn’t just about weak messaging or poor organisational grip. It’s what happens when a dynasty’s sense of entitlement collides with a country that has stopped treating it as the default setting.

For decades the Gandhi family’s operating system was simple: power is inherited, legitimacy is assumed, and institutions are appointment boards. Who gets a ticket, who gets a ministry, who gets a post, who gets protection - the ecosystem wasn’t built to compete, it was built to allocate.

Politics for Gandhis were never a marketplace of ideas. It was a family-run distribution network.

2014 didn’t just defeat Congress. It broke the spell. It told an entire ecosystem: you are not entitled to rule. You can be voted out, and the country can move on without your permission. For any normal party, that becomes a moment of reform. For a dynasty, it becomes a personal humiliation.

That’s why the behaviour since then often feels less like opposition and more like resentment. Not “how do we become better?” but “how dare you replace us?” When you believe the state is your inheritance, being out of power isn’t a political phase - it feels like exile.

So what do you do when you can’t accept the new reality? You delegitimise the referee. You question the institutions. You manufacture doubt about national achievements. You turn every moment of India’s rise into a crisis narrative. Because it’s the only way to reduce the pain of irrelevance.

This is why Rahul Gandhi looks unmoored. He’s trapped between two worlds: the old India where the family name could substitute for competence, and the new India where the name is no longer enough. And until Congress breaks free of the dynasty’s emotional need to be central, it will keep bleeding - because a party cannot rebuild while it’s still mourning its lost entitlement.

The real question is whether Rahul and his Congress can accept a basic democratic truth: power is earned, not inherited - and the country is under no obligation to return it.

Hindus hide their cowardice saying tolerance is built into their religion and in the same breath saying that Hinduism is a way of life.

This way of life lacks armed resistance against invaders, 1000 years under Muslim slavery and 200 years under British rule.

Even now Indian Muslims 'Love Jihad' goes on and on, and Hindus get beheaded by Muslims for minor criticism of Islam. The Hindu majority still lives in fear of the Muslim minority, except on social media.

Nupur Sharma was whisked away into protection, and she was from the ruling BJP and still kept away from social media.

When will Hindus grow some SELF RESPECT?

If only Indian twitterati and commentariat werent such snowflakes they would realise that China's rise was its own doing. It's rise was not an American gift. The Chinese planned well, worked well, their engineers didnt sell soap, coke or maggi or join the IAS or worse IRS. They innovated, they built, they invested, they educated their people. The Chinese miracle is of their own making. Similarly whether India will rise or not is in Indian hands. If India rises it wont be because the Americans or Europeans allowed us to or gifted it to us. And we will never rise as long as our first talking point with other countries is "transfer of tech". This is the height of imagination and profoundity of the Indian bureaucrat and techno-crat. Big powers will never allow anyone to equal them. That is a no brainer. If India has to rise, we will on our own genius or not at all. And we will have to find our own way to rise. We cant copy someone else. We must learn from others (assuming we understand we are not the repository of all wisdom in the world and get off our hobbyhorse of being vishvaguru) but we must find our own way to the top because every country has to find its own path.
