These maps are pretty good. They do a good job of representing the partisan interests of the residents of Utah, and they were drawn by folks who were listening to citizens about what they hoped to see in their maps.

Commissioners have finalized three congressional maps to submit to the legislature and with that, the total package of 12 maps is complete 🥳All 12 maps will be posted on our website at a later time.
Now voting on congressional maps, follow along here: https://t.co/RYQsLkeStP
Note that this link does not include all maps commissioners are currently discussing, public submissions have not been uploaded to the website.
Commissioner Hillyard said public hearings have been especially helpful, and we have to agree! Our commissioners know Utah well, but don't know your community as well as you do. Your input has definitely helped us make better maps.
To start off our meeting, we're hearing final comment from @myuea representative Chase Clyde. He says Orange's State School Board map is not a favorite and would encourage the board to approve an alternative map. What do you think?
Joining over Zoom is also an option for tonight's meeting if you want to give public comment. See agenda items below and click the Zoom link to join 👇

We're beginning the countdown to our Nov. 1st deadline, and kicking it off with finalizing congressional maps. Tonight will be our LAST meeting😱 of the redistricting process and if you want to listen in, remember to catch us on YouTube at 4pm.
Its a hot buzzword but pretty confusing...a community of interest doesn't have any real definition, but we describe it as a community that has a common political goal, ethnicity, cultural history, or economic background. This is how they impact redistricting.
The state reflects a national picture of growing diversity and the rallying cries of those communities for consideration amid the redistricting process.
