Those who link the F-35 deal to the war between the Houthis and Yemen’s military, which is supported by Saudi Arabia, should realize that buying F-35s has nothing to do with fighting the Houthis.

The Houthis are a militia, not a conventional army. This militia takes shelter in mountain caves and hides among civilians, civilian infrastructure, and economic facilities. Saudi Arabia does not want to bomb civilians or the infrastructure they depend on for their daily lives.

We should remember that the US, the world’s greatest military power and producer of the F-35, backed by the armies of the European Union, fought the Taliban for more than 20 years and withdrew from Afghanistan without accomplishing anything.

🇮🇱 Smotrich: Christianity is “a religion invented by man”

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has turned to theology, arguing that both Christianity and Islam developed around the assumption that the Jewish people would remain in exile.

On Christianity, he says the Church responded to Israel’s return by changing its theology:

“You know, a religion invented by man can also change its conception.”

Smotrich argues Islam has struggled to make the same adjustment because it lacks Christianity’s centralized ecclesiastical structure.

Calling Christianity man-made is quite a statement from a senior minister in a country whose strongest international constituency includes tens of millions of evangelical Christians.
