Dear A-Level finishers:

Unless you are set on a career that unavoidably requires a qualification you can only access through university, (or unless you're rich enough to pay for 3 years of fun without borrowing) I recommend you reconsider all other options before committing.

Starting working life with a huge debt around your neck, for no discernible advantage (look at graduate salaries now) is an avoidable disadvantage you don't need.

If United actually let Kobbie Mainoo leave after growing up and giving 15+ years of his life to his boyhood club, just because we'd rather play a 33-year-old on his last legs, a #6 who plays football like he's permanently stuck in buffering mode and a #10 being shoehorned into a #6/#8, it's a catastrophe.

You don't just lose a player, you lose the trust of every single kid in the academy. You kill the dream they've been chasing since they were 8 years old. That kind of betrayal sticks. It sets a precedent that could break the identity of this club for years, maybe forever.
