Unironically, CHARLEY is the gold-standard for LDS cinema. The book is better, but the movie as it is isn’t bad. If you put an A-list cast around it, reduce the Mormon themes to vague white midwestern American Christianity, and polish the script, you’d have a Hollywood hit.
