I’m Jennie, a writer and journalist. I blog about life after recurrent miscarriage. Ig: @jenniemonologues #recurrentmiscarriage#babyloss Read more here👇🏻
For anyone still following here, I wrote a book! It's part-memoir, part-investigation, challenging common misconceptions and outdated ideas around miscarriage and pregnancy loss. Out in just under three weeks... #miscarriage#pregnancyloss#tfmr#ectopicpregnancy
Hello! I'm not updating this page as often as I'd like any more, but you can get my latest writing and other updates (can't guarantee there won't be cat and sheep pictures) over here: @jenniferagg
'The whole truth – which you cannot easily convey to a well-meaning stranger in a park – is that I don’t know if I can do it again'. A new blog post about how *insanely* quickly you get asked if and when you'll have another baby. https://t.co/Tr20pFMSj4
Hello! Because I can barely run one Twitter account, let alone two, I'm going to be combining all my writing and blog posts, updates, and occasional cat pictures on my other account from now on. Do hop over and follow me there if you fancy it: @jenniferagg
The trouble with Christmas lyrics when you've just lost a baby, a song recommendation if you're struggling this year... and how it feels for us to finally have our son home for Christmas. https://t.co/LKpKqZMyyC #babyloss#parentingafterloss#AllIWantForChristmasIsYou
@quercus24@gdnlongread@jenniferagg Thank you - and I'm so sorry you went through this too. I agree once is more than bad enough! We are well (been taking a bit of a break, so sorry for slow reply - it means such a lot that you read and were invested in the piece) xx
The outrage from people directed at someone sharing their loss. Where is the outrage that so many babies due? Where is the outrage that so many mothers die? Where is the outage at the endless hospital baby death scandals? Yet a picture gets people all twitchy.
“It’s just awful. I’m so glad I can’t physically have anymore and we already have our children”
FYI, this is not an ideal thing to say to someone when they talk to you about their dead child.
But it is an good way of defining what it means to lack true compassion.

@notjustamumma I’m so sorry. I hadn’t heard of it either until my first. Such a cruel time to discover that such a thing can happen. Sending love and strength to you. X
I am generally good at making decisions. But how on earth do you decide what to do about a miscarriage you hadn't realised you'd had - when your body is refusing to let go? Here's my latest post, up now, on how to choose: https://t.co/FwhFmi817f #missedmiscarriage#babyloss
I’ve taken a two month break from #BabyLossHour over June and July - but will be back from August. What would people like to talk about? Who would people like to talk to? Let me know!
Just opened up my laptop for the first time since Edward was born - this might just be the longest I've gone without working/writing/pointless browsing. Feel all blinky and stumbly, like a baby deer...
With any luck, this will be my last blog post for a little while...on the third trimester, anxiety, doubts, intrusive thoughts, and waiting for a baby to be born.

Just a thought about some people's (much-publicised) objections over phrases like 'menstruators' - not all cisgender women menstruate. Or have wombs. Or ovaries. Or can carry children. Inclusive language works both ways.
