@shameeil@AbbaM_Abiyos Watched the video with a neutral mindset feeling all what heโs gonna say would prove his innocence cus that single line in their chat โ~project should be discussed at schoolโ got me doubting her story. However, his explanation here describing the project incidence didnโt add up.
SENATE INVESTIGATES NORTH WEST DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
The Senate Committee on Regional Development has raised eyebrows over spending at the North West Development Commission.
Lawmakers allege that nearly 79 percent of N1.19 billion spent by the commission, about N943 million, went to board allowances.
They also queried why NWDC is the only regional commission without executive directors and employees since it was inaugurated in February 2025.
The oversighting ministry, the board and managing Director explained to the committee some problems affecting operations.
The committee however insists that urgent action is needed for the commission to deliver on development and security in the North West.
@YusufHassanW I was initially concerned that the โyouthโ hadn't been considered. Glad to know now that youth representatives were actually included among the stakeholders.
Our Renewed Hope Education reforms are delivering measurable results.
Iโm pleased to see Nigerian universities record their strongest performance yet in the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
This year, 24 Nigerian universities were ranked globally, up from 21 in previous years, making Nigeria the most represented country in Sub Saharan Africa. Even more encouraging, 17 of those institutions are federal universities, reflecting the progress we are making in strengthening our public higher education system.
Congratulations to the University of Ibadan, the University of Lagos, Bayero University Kano, and every Nigerian university recognised in this yearโs rankings. This achievement belongs to the entire higher education sector and demonstrates what is possible when institutions are committed to excellence.
These rankings are not just about prestige. They are evidence that our investments in research, innovation, digital transformation, quality assurance, infrastructure, and governance are beginning to translate into global recognition.
Even more encouraging, 27 additional Nigerian universities participated in this yearโs assessment, demonstrating a growing commitment to transparency, benchmarking, and continuous improvement.
Under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, we remain committed to the Nigerian Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), ensuring our universities produce the knowledge, innovation, and talent that will drive Nigeriaโs future.
The work continues.
