The truth is that National Service Personnel are not paid on time. You can’t even budget properly with money you’re not sure of receiving.

Nonetheless, NSPs still show up for work. How do they commute? How do they feed themselves? How do they pay for utilities? Especially when a good number of us are posted far from home.

While people working with private companies often have their feeding, transport, and other needs taken care of, the rest of us depend on family support, loans, friends, and so on.

we should be advocating for NSS allowance to be increased from 715cedis ($63) to something more reasonable.

taking home $63 after 30days is criminal. we need to change that.

considering the cost of living in our country, giving a university graduate 715cedis monthly, is w!ckedness. we shouldn’t entertain that.

nobody should sit in the office and even be happy about this. we have allowed these things for too long.
