En español no es natural el comienzo «“s” + consonante» (ese líquida), por lo que cuando aparece en voces de otras lenguas se añade una «e» (https://t.co/Lqtpeh8SCP). De ahí «espira» (del latín «spira»; origen de «espiral»), «escáner», «espagueti»…
