Good afternoon,
On this Women Veterans Recognition Day, I want to take a moment to shine a light on the incredible Women who have served our country with dedication, courage, and resilience. Their contributions and sacrifices have shaped our nation and paved the way for future generations. Women Veterans have broken barriers, served valiantly in every role, and inspired us all through their commitment to service.
Let’s honor their achievements and ensure their voices are heard, their stories are celebrated, and their needs are met every day, not just today. Thank you to all Women Veterans for your unwavering strength and service. Your presence enriches our community, and your legacy is a source of inspiration.
Wishing everyone a meaningful Women Veterans Recognition Day!

A big shout out to VA Hudson Valley's Police Officers James Whittel and his counter part Brent Van Nosdall from VA Albany. From May 9th through May 12th, both officers participated in the Police Unity Tour, a 300 mile bicycle ride from New Jersey to Washington, DC. This four day event concluded at the National Law Enforcement Memorial and serves to honor and remember the law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
This year, Officers Whittel and Van Nosdall completed the ride in memory of VA Police Special Agent Gregory Holland, who passed away on August 13, 2021, due to COVID related complications. Their effort is a meaningful tribute to Special Agent Holland’s service and sacrifice.
The officers concluded their journey by riding through the National Law Enforcement Memorial alongside 2,500 fellow law enforcement cyclists from across the country, an inspiring demonstration of unity, remembrance, and commitment to honoring our fallen.
