Around 100,000 gay and bisexual men were arrested between 1933 and 1945. Thousands were sent to concentration camps. Many never came home.
German LGBTQ+ activists told me remembrance is more important than ever.

Three amendments. One ballot.
Healthcare freedoms, voting rights, and marriage equality are headed to Virginia voters this November.
Thanks to the leadership of Virginia Democrats and Governor Abigail Spanberger, Virginians get the final say. See you at the ballot box. 🗳️
With Governor @SpanbergerForVA's signature our efforts to enshrine marriage equality in the Virginia Constitution have paid off. The voters will decide in November!
Celebrating Marriage Equality with ACLU and Equality VA. I was delighted to serve as Co-Chief Patron along with Senator Ebbin on the constitutional amendment for marriage equality. Love Wins!

I JUST signed bills to allow Virginians to vote on proposed amendments to our Constitution. We took the next step to protect marriage equality, reproductive rights, the automatic restoration of voting rights, and to let voters respond to extreme measures taken by other states.
We are heartbroken to share that Melissa Vaughn, our former VCPP President, passed away yesterday evening, January 29th, at 4:17 PM.
She spent her final hours surrounded by friends and family, being held, loved, and celebrated.
Melissa was a fierce advocate, not only for 1/6
Melissa was one of my first friends when I moved back to RVA. She was a mover, a shaker & someone who radically loved radio, her community, & Richmond. When she had cancer the first time I used to bike back & forth to her house dropping off food. All I can do now is miss her. 🧡
Happy Pride! It’s more important than ever to celebrate equality and the right to be who you are!
This year I’m committed to ensuring we have an Assembly that sends voters a constitutional amendment that takes out our noxious gay marriage ban. It’s long past time. Love is love.
We’re proud to be featured in @virginianpilot’s roundup of 2025 Pride festivals in Hampton Roads! 🌈

Utah, a state that banned all trans healthcare until more research was carried out did their own meta study.
Unfortunately for them, they used real unbiased scientists. found
Improved mental health
No significant effect on bone density
Positive effects on psychosocial outcome
Happy Pride Month! 🌈
This June, we celebrate love, identity, and the power of living authentically as yourself.
I stand with the LGBTQ+ community and will continue pushing for equality and inclusion for all. #LoveIsLove#Pride2025
Pride is more than parades. It’s about visibility, resilience, advocacy, and action. Now more than ever, we must commit to standing up to hatred and bigotry. Equal rights and protections means equal rights and protections for all.
This Pride Month, we celebrate love, honor the trailblazers of the LGBTQIA+ community, and recommit to the fight ahead—because everyone deserves to live safely, freely, and authentically. 🏳️🌈✊🏽 #PrideMonth
Pride is a celebration, but it's also a call to action.
From fighting for marriage equality to defending trans youth today, our communities know: Pride will always be a protest.
We honor that legacy this month and every month.
On our street, everyone is welcome. Together, let’s build a world where every person and family feels loved and respected for who they are. Happy #PrideMonth!
