Urgency drains your energy. Don't rush into things. It will only make you more anxious. Not everything needs to be solved today. Slow down. Take a breath. Let things unfold. Give yourself enough space to think, feel, and respond instead of constantly reacting. Be slow. Be calm. Be fully present in everything you do. What I've learned is that some of the best decisions in life are made when you stop trying to outrun the moment.
I cannot stand the idea that every conversation about money or financial goals has to be scaled down to avoid offending people who have less.
For example, if someone says $5M “isn’t a lot” in the context of their own financial goals, and your immediate response is, “BUT SOME PEOPLE CAN’T AFFORD GROCERIES,” you’re not doing anyone any favors. You’ve demonstrated that you believe every conversation about success needs to be emotionally calibrated for the least successful person reading it.
And here’s the real important takeaway: hearing people talk about numbers that currently feel completely freaking absurd to you should ALWAYS inspire you instead of offend you.
When I was a single mother on welfare, getting food from food banks and barely making ends meet, I actively sought out people, lifestyles, businesses, and financial realities that were WILDLY beyond anything I had or could even conceive of. I didn’t need wealthy people to shrink their language down to make me comfortable. I wanted the exact opposite. The more “out of touch” something seemed compared to my reality, the more it expanded my idea of what was actually possible.
That exposure was FUEL for me. It was quite literally a major key to my eventual success. (And I still continue to move that goal post!)
If I had spent those years demanding that successful people stop talking about $5M, $10M or $100M because it was “insensitive” to my current situation, I would’ve been protecting my feelings at the expense of expanding my expectations. That’s insane.
Someone else having a radically higher definition of “a lot of money” does NOT insult you, harm you, or make your circumstances worse. It should however inspire you and expand what you believe to be possible!
Being directly confronted with how much bigger the world is than your current reality is exactly the point and you should be embracing it.

I much rather live frugally with my money now and know my future is secured instead of spending it now and have to worry about the future later. That’s just me though.
I learned this from a friend’s father who’s a millionaire.
He said, “When you start making money, don’t rush to buy everything you’ve always wanted. Live at least 30–40% below your means.”
If the money keeps coming at that rate, upgrade your life slowly. Little by little. Let your income become consistent before your lifestyle becomes expensive.
It’s called delayed gratification.
Stability first. Comfort later.
