The VCC Emergencies Ministry began in 1977. It is a part of the Victorian State Emergency Management Plan providing Chaplains & Support workers in disasters.
We are heading down the Great Ocean Road to Warrnambool in February.
If you or someone you know would make a good volunteer go to https://t.co/jkbMEPjLq2 to find out more and register.
As we head towards the end of year we would like to highlight the amazing work of our volunteers who have been requested to attend more events in 2024 than in 2022 & 2023 combined!
VCC EM - Providing compassion in time of crisis.
It was great to have an opportunity last week to film a segment with Victoria Police talking about the role of VCC EM. This will be used to assist new Sergeants within Victoria Police better understand what we do, and, how we can work with them, to better support communities.
In National Volunteer week we celebrate all our wonderful volunteers. The 2024 theme is "Something for Everyone." Through their work, our volunteers, help Traumatised community members identify "What is the Something" they can do to help their recovery. #NVW2024

The @VCCEmergencies extends its deepest condolences and prayers to all those impacted by yesterday’s tragic incident in Bondi Junction.
We are also thinking of all those who are, or will be, working in the recovery space supporting all the community members affected by this.
On International Woman's Day we thank all our amazing staff and volunteer women for the work they do in supporting the Victorian Community during times of crisis.
#IWD2024 We make improvements every year to our workforce #InspireInclusion

On #InternationalVolunteersDay we thank all our volunteers for the work they do year round to support Victorian Communities following emergencies and disasters providing "Compassion in times of Crisis."
Following another incident on Bourke St yesterday, there is a possibility of heightened media attention of past events, potentially triggering recollections and causing additional distress for those who were either directly involved or affected by yesterdays or past events.
If media coverage of the car chase on Bourke Street is having an impact on you or someone you know, this is normal and there are some things you can do.
Talk to your doctor or mental health professional about what you are experiencing.

The state government’s decision to cut consultations with emergency services volunteers could worsen morale in the sector and diminish disaster responses, volunteers claim. https://t.co/2orli2JPmp
In national volunteer week we celebrate all our amazing volunteers. The 2023 theme of "Change Makers" quite appropriately reflects the impact our volunteers have on individuals and communities. #NVW2023
