One Project, One Year is smart policy.

The labour movement has long called for expedited permitting and cutting red tape so we can get shovels in the ground, cranes in the sky and our members on the job.

Canada cannot build at the speed or scale our economy demands if projects spend years tied up in process. Faster approvals, with safety, Indigenous consultation and environmental responsibility at the forefront, mean more certainty, more investment and more good union jobs.

It’s time to get Canada building.

10 years ago, we stood together at the last in-person LiUNA International Convention.

This year will look a little different. Our family has grown, life has changed, and a decade has passed, but one thing never has: the pride we carry for our dad, @joemancinelli, and for everything this organization has given our family.

We have never taken for granted what it means to be part of @LIUNA. To have grown up surrounded by this union, its members and the values it represents. To watch our dad dedicate his life to building it stronger, always reminding us that leadership is never about one person, it’s about the people you serve and what you leave behind for the next generation.

LiUNA has given our family more than we could ever put into words. It has given us purpose, community and a family far bigger than our own.

Ten years later, we couldn’t be prouder to stand together again.

This is our union. This is our family. This is LiUNA.

The Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville was shot at tonight while worshippers gathered for Yom Kippur. This was a photo sent to me by a worshipper.

An officer was on duty and is being called a hero.

This is disgraceful.

No Jewish person in Belleville should ever have to fear walking into their synagogue. No family should have to wonder whether they are safe while worshipping.

To Belleville’s Jewish community: we stand with you tonight. You deserve to feel safe here.

And to the officer who put himself in harm’s way protecting others: thank you.

G’mar Chatima Tovah to my Jewish friends and families around the world 💙

As Yom Kippur begins this evening, my heart is with a community being forced, once again, to confront a hatred that has made being visibly and proudly Jewish carry a weight it never should.

And yet, there is something profoundly powerful about Jewish resilience.

For thousands of years, through persecution, displacement and attempts to erase a people and their identity, Jewish life has endured. Not quietly. Not apologetically. But proudly, carrying forward a light that hatred has never been able to extinguish.

Every prayer spoken. Every tradition passed from one generation to the next. Every family gathered around a table. Every person who chooses to live openly and proudly as a Jew. Each is a testament to a people who refused to disappear.

To my Jewish friends: you should never have to make yourselves smaller, quieter or less visibly Jewish to feel safe. Your identity is not something you should ever be forced to defend or apologize for. It is yours to carry with pride.

And may those of us who call ourselves allies understand that allyship cannot exist only when it is easy, popular or convenient. When hatred grows louder, our courage cannot grow quieter. Silence in the face of hate against our Jewish friends leaves those confronting it to stand alone.

May this sacred day bring reflection, healing and renewed hope. May the year ahead bring more courage in the face of hatred, greater humanity in the face of division, and a shared determination to leave the next generation a world where Jewish people never have to question whether it is safe to simply be who they are.

Standing proudly with you today, tomorrow and in all the days that follow.

Minister @DavidPiccini approached the portfolio with energy, conviction and a willingness to listen. He did not treat engagement with labour as a formality.

He came to our training centres, met directly with workers and apprentices, heard from women building careers in the trades and listened to the people whose experience on jobsites should inform the decisions made at Queen’s Park.

Most importantly, he acted.

There was nothing quiet about the support for unions.

LiUNA worked closely with @PierrePoilievre and his team to not only repeal anti union legislation, but help shape policy that recognizes, invests in and creates greater opportunities for unionized workers across Canada.

Following months of on-the-ground work, listening and meaningful engagement with the men and women who build our country, these measures were announced at LiUNA’s Cambridge Training and Education Centre back in April 2025.

Throughout that work, @PierrePoilievre took the time, and continues to take the time, to engage directly with our members, hear their experiences and understand the realities facing workers and their families.

Good policy starts by listening to the people it impacts. We appreciate the collaboration and look forward to continue working together to strengthen opportunities for our members, the skilled trades and working families across Canada.
