When you have a job in the trades, you have a career for life.
Watching these competitors put their skills to the test at the National Skills Competition was a reminder that Ontario’s next generation has the talent, determination, and drive to build rewarding careers and a brighter future.

Ontario is stronger because of the generations of Italian Canadians who helped build it.
Celebrating Italian Heritage Day and the Day of the Italian Republic with the members of @local46 was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact Italian Canadians have had on our communities, our workforce, and our province.
Their stories, values, and contributions continue to unite us and inspire future generations to carry that legacy forward.
Great meeting with Compass ELC representatives and local parents to hear firsthand about the opportunities and challenges facing childcare in our community.
We discussed how Ontario can continue to improve access to affordable childcare while also supporting the dedicated early childhood educators who play an important role in shaping the lives of future generations.
Ontario’s Beef Farmers came to the Legislature to serve up some of the best Ontario beef and talk about Ontario’s beef sector.
Such a pleasure to join the @BeefFarmersON for their annual BBQ. Special thank you to our very own Chadd Taylor for his work in bringing the issues to Queens Park and Ontario’s Agriculture Minister @TrevorJonesCKL for showcasing the very best!
It was a real treat to enjoy a nice lunch with the incredible team I get to work with at Labour and even more special to show them how communities like ours, feed the city!
The freedoms we enjoy every day are made possible by the men and women who choose to serve.
It was a privilege to meet with members of the @CanadianForces and thank them for their service. From reservists who strengthen our communities at home to serving abroad, their dedication deserves our gratitude and support, along with the employers who stand behind them when duty calls.

In Kenora, Minister @GregRickford, @SkilledTradesON CEO Candice White, and I joined the @Weyerhaeuser team at their TimberStrand Mill for a roundtable conversation on the importance of strong health and safety standards and skilled trades training.

I want to thank Caroline Mulroney for her years of dedicated service to the people of Ontario.
Caroline has been a valued colleague and friend. I enjoyed having the opportunity to work closely with her on a number of files, in particular the work we did together to reduce phosphorus in Lake Simcoe.
I wish Caroline all the best and continued success in her next chapter.
@C_Mulroney
Northern Ontario is full of opportunity, and local families need the educators to support their children.
Joined by Minister @GregRickford in Kenora, we highlighted how our $686,000 investment in Ksalsuti Wellness Resources’ pre-apprenticeship program will help more jobseekers gain the skills needed to enter the education and child development sectors.
Projects like this help strengthen local communities, support families, and ensure Northern youth have the support they need.
It was an honour to have Northumberland’s progress in building a more Age-Friendly Community recognized by my colleague and friend @RaymondChoPC.
For many Ontario families, supporting aging loved ones is part of everyday life, and the Age-Friendly Community model helps make that easier by improving accessibility, safety, and support for seniors.
From safer public spaces to stronger local supports, these improvements are helping seniors stay connected and age with dignity closer to home.
Building stronger communities in the North starts with skilled workers.
Joined by Minister @GregRickford, we visited the future site of a new vet clinic in Kenora and discussed how projects like this begin with a strong local workforce.
With Kenora’s new @SkilledTradesON exam centre, apprentices can get certified closer to home and take the next step toward building their communities.

Great connecting with local businesses owners during @port_chamber’s Power Hour alongside MP @PLawrenceCAN & Deputy Mayor Adam Pearson.
I had the opportunity to share exciting community updates for our region and how Ontario is committed to supporting businesses across our province.
We're taking action to prevent illegal truck yards in Northumberland-Peterborough South 🚚
Ontario will soon introduce amendments to the Planning Act that will give municipalities stronger enforcement tools to crack down on unlawful land uses for trucks, protecting our communities and preserving the farmland that is so important to our region.

It was a pleasure to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the @porthopejazz Festival in Port Hope this weekend.
I was proud to share that Ontario is investing $15,000 through the Ontario Arts Council’s Music Production and Presentations program to support this incredible festival and the vibrant arts community here in Northumberland — Peterborough South.
Congratulations on 25 amazing years in Port Hope!
Northern Ontario plays an important role in driving our province forward, and the workers who live here deserve the same opportunities as anyone else.
For too long, apprentices in the North have had to drive nearly 6 hours just to reach the nearest exam centre, adding unnecessary costs, delays, and barriers to starting their careers.
Today, alongside Minister @GregRickford and CEO Candice White, we announced the @SkilledTradesON exam centre right here in Kenora, breaking down a longstanding barrier so apprentices get certified faster and start building the communities that need them most.
