Dignity, trust, and rebuilding take time. We walk with veterans at the pace they need. ⏳

@TheFive@JesseBWatters What a day! Coming home is the first step, walking with them is the long road. We celebrated and know this was a fight for justice and hope!
🦃 Volunteer or donate to amazing organizations locally! This Thanksgiving, let’s do more than give thanks. Let’s give hope.
Across America, families face cold nights, empty plates, and uncertain futures. Veterans, survivors, and children deserve more than a holiday—they deserve dignity.
📦 Sponsor a box. Share a meal. Be the reason someone feels seen this season.
In our community, People Helping People is on the ground making it happen. 📞 Call (608) 434-0002 to support boots-on-the-ground teams and ensure small groups get the assistance they need.
Because gratitude means action. And legacy means leaving no one behind.

Looking at this makes me think how many times people wanted someone to hear them, about what is happening and they don't want all the medications. Can't wait to hear more!
Astrocytes, Not Neurons, Hold the Key to Emotional Memory
Astrocytes, the brain’s often-overlooked support cells, have been found to play a central role in stabilizing emotionally charged memories.
After a powerful emotional event, these cells are biologically tagged with adrenoreceptors that prime them to reactivate when the memory resurfaces.
When researchers blocked astrocyte activity, memories became unstable; when they forced activation, mild memories were recalled as deeply distressing.
The discovery redefines how the brain stores emotional experiences and may lead to gentler therapies for PTSD.
How Synapses Grow Up
Synapses aren’t born ready — they learn to communicate over time.
New research shows that young neural connections go through a gradual maturation process that depends on activity, taking days to fully develop the ability to send neurotransmitters.
When neural signaling is blocked, synapses grow abnormally large but stop forming new ones, revealing how feedback between neurons and muscles fine-tunes communication.
The discovery provides fresh insight into how disruptions in this process can lead to brain disorders such as autism and epilepsy.
@SecVetAffairs@DeptVetAffairs Maybe some of the notes posted and information being put out are conflicting and causing aggravation, this needs to be addressed. The whole VA has many people and centers! Are they causing anxiety with their releases? When a call comes in don't blame the shutdown!
