The conference was centred on how universities can leverage AI to improve graduate outcomes and prepare students better for employability and entrepreneurship.
This evening, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John F. Mugisha, officially flagged off Mr. Ampaire Derrick, a Diploma in Animal Health student, for an apprenticeship program in Denmark under the ESCOM partnership.
He will undergo an 18-month training aimed at equipping him with practical knowledge, advanced skills and exposure to the international dairy sector. Bishop Stuart University has been sending several students to acquire knowledge in different areas outside the country.
Derrick becomes the first student from BSU to participate in this program abroad (under ESCOM partnership), marking a significant milestone for both him and the university.
Day 5: Climaxing the AgrCBE Workshop at Bishop Stuart University. In attendance are representatives from the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), Ministry of Education (Kenya and Uganda), National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), Commission for University Education (CUE) and other participants.
Bishop Stuart University is hosting a five-day international workshop under the EU-funded AgrCBE Project, taking place from 12th to 16th May 2025. The workshop aims to advance the development and adoption of Competency-Based Agricultural Curricula in Higher Education, with a focus on formulating minimum CBE curriculum benchmarks and defining professional and competence profiles for agricultural training in the region.
