Today, on April 24, we remember and honor the victims of the Armenian genocide, which the Ottoman Empire carried out 111 years ago, and to this day is still being denied by the Turkish government.
Wishing for peace and justice for the Armenian people on this day. ❤️🕯️🇦🇲
Under the cover of the First World War, the Ottoman Turks decided to exterminate the Christian Armenians.
1.5 million are believed to have perished in the Turk’s campaign of extermination.
This was the first genocide of the 20th Century.
Today we remember.
Never forget 🇦🇲✝️

Up to 1.5 million Armenians were massacred by the Ottoman Empire between 1915-1923.
Armenians were forcibly deported and marched into the desert to die of starvation, dehydration, or exhaustion, alongside targeted executions and the destruction of cultural sites.
The Turkish government still denies the genocide to this day. 🇹🇷
