Resident Evil 4 Remake
Resident Evil 4 was one of my favorite games I played back in the day on my GameCube growing up. Was my first game I played in the Resident Evil series, and I really enjoyed the original from beginning to end. The remake, does alot to retain most of what kept the original special, while adding alot new in order to keep up with todays' standards in gaming. Most know all about Leon so I'm not gonna go too into detail but Leon is still a badass even in the remake. The original game was more heavy due to the tank controls making for a game with slower paced action, while the remake in comparison does modernize the game with some updated combat and more fluid movement, but at the cost of the vibe being an even darker tone than the original, which for me I was okay with until a few parts of the game in the remake were just TOO dark I could barely see. RE4R retains most of what kept the original so great while changing the mood and charm from the more cheesy lines and dependent resource management into a more serious and darker atmosphere with less of that altogether. The graphics in RE4R are very visually stunning, breathing new life in an already timeless classic that the OG RE4 could still be replayed to this day, the Remake does a good job of also standing out in it's own ways making it a different yet similar experience to OG RE4. Overall, RE4R is a great time, about as good as OG RE4, although I do think either version could be played & replayed interchanging. The remake does not supersede the original. Both iterations have a right to be still played to this day.

Pokémon PureRGB
Pokémon PureRGB is genuinely the best, modern way to replay and experience Generation 1 of Pokémon in a style that mixes the classic with the current. It's a purist's enhancement. From maintaining the 151 original Pokémon but more easily accessible even in early game, which leads to more varied team composition every playthrough, along with rebalancing every bad move from that generation to be viable, to having much more bug, poison and ghost type moves available, some brand new moves which makes playing this feel as new as it also feels nostalgic to play. A perfect blend of the two. As well as even a myriad of additional options like switchable color palettes, optional in-battle experience bar, which I definitely had turned on, enhanced menu sprites and overworld icons among much more added, making Pokémon PureRGB one of the best ways, maybe THE way to play classic Gen 1 Pokémon. The increase in bag size, you can access the PC from the menu, trade evo's all evolve at level 37, having an item called a POCKET ABRA that teleports you anywhere whenever, there is even a champions arena, where after you beat the game you can go to the arena at the Indigo Plateau to battle all the gym leaders & E4 in rematches! So much locations/new content added in too like the Moltres Dungeon and They even got Mew under the truck and kept Missingno in (and it doesn't even break/corrupt your save!). There is SO much added I can keep going. In addition, more mon's have better typing's. Like Golduck finally being Water/Psychic type for example. Even mon's with alternate color palettes (practically shiny's). Pokémon PureRGB is pure peak Pokémon as we all remember, but more modern and better than ever while retaining that nostalgic feel we all felt in the late 90's.

Hades 2 (the next batch of game reviews were beat between late February until late June, I apologize for the delay on most of these reviews.)
Hades 2 is the perfect depiction of what a sequel to an already amazing game should be. Utilizing everything from the first Hades that made the game as spectacular as it was, but taking it a step above and incorporating some new gods and goddesses who can bestow their power onto you through boons that were not present in the first game. You play as Melinoe, who is actually the princess of the underworld and is also the younger sister of the protagonist in Hades 1, Zagreus. You must descend deep into the depths of the underworld with the help of Hectate, who is the goddess of witchcraft and also helped keep Melinoe in hiding from Kronos, the Titan of Time, who must be taken down in order for Melinoe to save her family. As you descend time after time, the story will continue to unravel piece by piece as you get closer and closer to saving your brother Zagreus and your family from Kronos. After you defeat Kronos you can also ascend to the top of Mt. Olympus where Kronos' reign had spilled over, eluding to even more game replayability even compared to Hades 1 imo, even if you stick with just one or two weapons. The soundtrack is still top tier along with the artstyle present throughout the game and what's now the Hades series as a whole. Hades 2 in my eyes was the definitive best indie game sequel of 2025, no debate. So excited for Hades 3, just gonna wait til the game hits 1.0 just like with Hades 2, as it did have an early access for nearly two years before 1.0 dropped. If you haven't played Hades 2 but loved Hades 1, go play Hades 2 now!!!

Poppy Playtime
So it finally happened I experienced Poppy Playtime, thankfully it was free to own. It was what felt like an overblown hallway simulator combined with a few moments that could possibly catch you off guard, but aside from those few and far between moments, this game is just alright. Not completely inoffensive in game design outside of Poppy as a character itself always looking like an absolute freak, the game and how it sets up puzzles and potential jumpscares can come off real easy to foreshadow as it happens. Leaving not much room to be afraid of anything unless you just aren't paying attention and you get jumpscared due to not seeing it coming if you didn't predict it prior. Pretty forgettable as a game from beginning to end as I write this review a few months after I've beaten it with not much to remember besides a lackluster escape sequence within the vents- I have no plans to try the other Poppy Playtime games, no idea how this game became a popular series at all.

Arc Raiders
Damn. This was an incredible shooter that brought back the vibes of the classics from when I was a teenager and young adult. When I'd be playing Halo 3, Call of Duty or Fortnite for many nights for countless hours and tons of years with best friends for life. This game brough us back together & that should speak for itself with how impactful Arc Raiders is not just for me, but for many in a genre where most of the shooters we fell in love with just aren't the same. Arc Raiders raised the bar and I am not sure if many games will have such ingenuity with the loot system, how intuitive the map design is, to the incredible shooting gameplay that give you tons of ability to craft and upgrade your material for better run's each time you deploy into the world to raid more loot. Even with some of the more recent updates, Arc Raiders is unlike most games of it's kind, as it's caliber is a step above the rest. With many hours played, I can attest to how much fun Arc is with friends, and even if you want to play solo it is a great time even when encountering with cool randoms and the occasional douche. Overall, outside of some hit detection and frame drop shenanigans that only happened a few times at most- Arc Raiders is a return to form for the shooter genre, and will continue to be a beacon of inspiration for the next generation of games to follow. I can see Arc Raiders around for a while.
