[Victor Davis Hanson @VDHanson]

On January 7, 2021 the media pronounced President Trump inert, kaput, zapped.

He was soon to be impeached a second time, and tried in the Senate as a private citizen.

Trump was written off by many grandees in his own party, libeled as a neo-Confederate insurrectionist, crashing in the Republican polls, and within months the target of 91 lawfare indictments in five civil and criminal courtrooms, and facing half-a-billion dollars in fines and a possible lengthy prison sentence.

Yet  within two years, Trump was defiant as ever. He began criss-crossing the countries to massive rallies—between court appearances. He was soon crushing his Republican primary opponents, and convinced he could regain the presidency, despite two assassination attempts, the hatred of the frenzied  Left, and  loathed by the media, the universities, the corporate board rooms, celebrities, and most of the donor class.

No matter. Donald Trump staged the greatest comeback in American presidential history, won back the White House, and began launching  the most sweeping counter-revolution in a century. Almost alone, Trump was determined to undo 100 years of the progressive take-over of our institutions, to marginalize the gloomy declinists, and to reboot the U.S. as the greatest economic, military, and political power in the world

How he arose from the ashes, crushed his opponents, and sought to restore America is the story of Counterrevolution: The Fall and Rise of Donald  Trump and the MAGA Movement—a carefully documented account and analysis of what Trump’s adversaries did to him, why he survived, and how he has become one of our nation's most consequential and controversial presidents.

Why come to America for its freedom and prosperity only to condemn the country that provides them?

Failed assimilation, hostility toward Western traditions, and Europe’s struggle to defend its own civilization are raising serious questions about the future of the West.

How much longer can these problems be ignored?

France Offers Cradle-to-Grave Welfare. So Why the Riots? | Victor Davis Hanson

France's generous welfare system and mounting national debt make the country's riots especially ironic, given the opportunities available to immigrants compared with conditions in many of their countries of origin.

Victor Davis Hanson contends that rioters, radical students, and socialist agitators are undermining the very society whose prosperity and social benefits they enjoy.

Victor Davis Hanson: Trump Is Telling Europe They Need to Have a Plan to Stop the War in Ukraine

When the U.S. said to Europe that there’s an unhinged theocratic government with enough enriched uranium to make nine missiles, it didn’t ask Europe to fight.

All it asked was to use NATO bases and fly over their airspace, but Europe said “No.”

Now, before the U.S. backs up Europe in Ukraine, Trump has some questions:

“What Trump is saying is, ‘We're not trying to thwart you. We just think that after almost five years, nobody has a plan how to stop killing two and a half million people.’”

Victor Davis Hanson: The Dangerous Decline of Western Civilization

Western civilization is facing a crisis of its own making. Across Europe, mass immigration, failed assimilation, economic stagnation, and political paralysis are threatening the very foundations of nations that once dominated the world. Rather than confront these problems, European leaders seem determined to double down on the policies that created them.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama's warnings about political retaliation raise questions about his own administration's record, NPR's Katherine Maher receives a free speech award, and America's universities are producing students who struggle with basic reading and comprehension.

.@VDHanson says Republican voters need to stand with the GOP: “they'd be foolish to stay home because they're not happy with gas or the Iran war, because 90% is exactly what they voted for.”

[Victor Davis Hanson @VDHanson]

There are two ways of looking at the midterms, now less than three weeks away.

One is as a simple referendum on the issues and politicians of the day. The other involves a far deeper conflict of visions (as Thomas Sowell puts it): socialism versus capitalism, intrusive versus limited government, and the destruction of time-honored institutions and traditions versus their preservation and renewal.

Rarely in American history have the two parties been so far apart or the choice between them so stark. In brief, Islamist-sympathizing socialism is on the ballot against free-market capitalism and American exceptionalism.

Victor Davis Hanson: What Caused the French to Embrace Postmodernist Cultural Rejection?

Europe's humiliation after two world wars gave rise to postmodernist philosophy, which rejected objective truth, traditional standards and Western cultural achievements in favor of dividing society into oppressors and the oppressed. Victor Davis Hanson contends that American universities imported this ideology from France, allowing it to infiltrate K-12 education, undermine academic excellence and teach generations of students to view Western civilization through the lens of victimhood.

How did Donald Trump go from political defeat and the aftermath of January 6 to a second term in the White House? Hoover Senior Fellow @VDHanson joins Uncommon Knowledge with @P_M_Robinson to discuss his latest book, The Counter-Revolution: The Fall and Rise of Donald Trump and the MAGA Movement.

Hanson argues that the prosecutions of Trump strengthened his candidacy, evidenced by his gains among Black and Hispanic male voters, and explains why prominent Silicon Valley figures (many former Democrats) rallied behind him. He also delves into Trump's second-term agenda, from immigration enforcement to his confrontation with universities, the media, and other institutions Hanson sees as centers of progressive power.

Victor Davis Hanson: Europe Will Be the Beneficiary If Iran Stops Controlling the Strait

The U.K. let Iranian subjects out on bail, who were going to destroy 25% of U.S. B-1 bombers, Spain says the U.S. can't use a base, and France says they can't fly over our airspace.

Meanwhile, the U.S. is going to do all the heavy lifting patrolling the strait.

”Who’s gonna be the beneficiary in the long run? It's gonna be Europe if this government falls and there's a pro-Western Iran.”

Victor Davis Hanson: Rubio’s Warning About the Decline of the West

Marco Rubio’s speech in Athens delivered a powerful message about the importance of defending Western civilization and preserving its legacy.

Tracing the West’s roots from ancient Greece and Rome to the founding of the United States, the speech highlights the achievements of Western culture, including the rule of law, constitutional government and free-market capitalism.

But with declining confidence in Western values, anti-Western ideologies and growing threats from within and abroad, the future of Western civilization is increasingly uncertain.

Victor Davis Hanson: Hamas is a Complete Death Cult—Why Are Campuses Not Condemning Them?

Columbia University had “Oct. 7 blush sauce” on the dining hall menu. A Haverford professor was arrested for cyberstalking a Jewish colleague.

But the Left continues to shield these bad actors behind victimhood. Why?

“You get these expensive policies. Well, that's what DEI is. It's basically saying, ‘I got a DEI policy, and that means that if I want to make up a false identity and attack this person, I'm not a part of the oppressor class. I'm the oppressed class, so I get an exemption.’”

Victor Davis Hanson: DEI Is the Left’s ‘Get Out of Accountability Free’ Card

A college professor allegedly poses as a MAGA supporter to threaten and harass a Jewish colleague, raising alarming questions about rising antisemitism on America's elite college campuses.

Victor Davis Hanson and Jack Fowler examine these disturbing allegations on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words,” arguing that antisemitism is becoming increasingly tolerated within progressive institutions.

They connect the controversy to broader concerns about DEI policies, the political Left’s response to the October 7 Hamas attacks, and growing hostility toward Israel. Hanson criticizes Hamas and its role in the destruction of Gaza, while warning about the dangerous normalization of antisemitic rhetoric in American politics.

They examine allegations surrounding Rep. Ilhan Omar, and accusations of political double standards involving federal investigations. They dive into the ongoing protests in France which seemed to have started over a lack of air conditioning in schools, however, Victor argues these protests are often encouraged by left-wing donors and political organizations, rather than being entirely spontaneous.

The episode also turns to Cornell University’s controversial sexual advice amid sexual assault allegations, and the disturbing sexual-health materials being passed out by the university.

Major Nidal Hasan, who murdered 13 of his fellow unarmed soldiers at Fort Hood in 2009, is scheduled to be publicly executed Dec. 3, 2026.

While Americans are still conflicted on a public execution, the Left rushed to downplay the severity of Hasan's murders. Obama famously called it "workplace violence" and the former Secretary of the Army George Casey said that "diversity" could never become "a casualty."

"Thirteen years later, he’s appealed, and he’s appealed the appeals, and he’s taken every civilian and military avenue at government expense with legal counsel to get out of this, and now it’s run out and the sentence will be carried out," @VDHanson said.
