On March 14, 1891, eleven Italians were lynched in New Orleans. It was the largest mass lynching in the American South.
"He (President Harrison) knew Italians faced bigotry and institutionalized discrimination. He knew they faced mob violence throughout the land. He wanted to make things right — and in the process show the world a different side of America.
"He settled on two courses of action. First, he agreed to pay each family of the lynched Italians $25,000, a substantial sum in 1891. Then he did something remarkable: he decided to use the office of the president to acknowledge the contributions of Italians and Italian Americans to the United States.
"An American president, for the first time, would affirm officially the rightful place of Italians in the fabric of American life, turning a new page in how Protestant America saw Catholic immigrants. No longer, he wanted to make clear, could the racist editors at the New York Times approve of the lynching of anyone anywhere in the United States without rebuke."
The Italian men lynched were Antonio Bagnetto, James Caruso, Loreto Comitis, Rocco Geraci, Joseph P. Macheca, Antonio Marchesi, Pietro Monasterio, Emmanuele Polizzi, Frank Romero, Antonio Scaffidi, and Charles Traina.

Today is the Feast Day of St. Michael the Archangel, the revered patron saint of police officers. This holiday celebrated throughout Italy 🇮🇹 and the United States 🇺🇸 honors the brave men & women of law enforcement. We ask Saint Michael to protect them and give them the wisdom and strength to protect and serve. The Italian American Police Officers Society of New Jersey sends thanks to it's patron Saint Michael for his protection.
@TomCottonAR States may opt out if they so choose. You should not be deciding this for the whole country by blocking it. I prefer you vote Yes but if you can't bring yourself to do that, at least don't block it.
Happy 250th Anniversary to the greatest country in the world. Lest we forget, without America’s Veterans, America simply wouldn’t exist. All gave some. Some, gave all. God Bless America.
We’re being told this country is broken beyond repair.
And then this happens.
An American Olympic gold medalist, bloodied and grinning, wrapped in the Stars and Stripes, after decades of waiting, sacrifice, and belief, reminding the world what it looks like when America rises again. 🇺🇸
Two kids on a quiet sidewalk, watching Artemis II tear through the sky, like history reaching forward and backward at once, reminding us we are still the nation that dares to go farther. 🚀
And an American Air Force colonel, shot down over enemy territory, alone in the mountains of Iran for 48 hours, hunted, wounded, waiting,
And America came for him anyway.
Through the dark.
Through the risk.
Through the fire.
Because we don’t leave our own.
Same year. Same country.
Not spin. Not noise.
This is real.
They can keep selling division.
They can keep feeding the noise.
But this?
This is different.
This is who we are when it matters.
Not perfect. Not polished.
But still capable of courage.
Still capable of wonder.
Still capable of loyalty.
The darkness is loud right now.
But the light?
The light doesn’t ask permission.
It just shows up.
GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸❤️
HAPPY EASTER 💜
IT’S WORTH IT
What would the older version of me tell the younger one — as a Marine, as a man?
It wouldn’t be complex. It’d be this:
Fight every fight. Hold every line.
Question everything. Verify… then trust.
When it gets complex, simplify.
You won’t always know what to do — but you must do something.
There are no justified excuses. Only results.
No one is coming to save you.
It’s harder than you can imagine.
But it’s all worth it.
Huge thanks to Italian American Police Officers Society of New Jersey Attorney Valerie Palma DeLuisi for spearheading the collection of toys for our Christmas Toy Drive. The team at the Palma Law Firm in Clifton worked hard to ensure that children throughout the region had toys and gifts for Christmas. Merry Christmas! @VDeluisi@IAPSNJ
@Devarjaye @ICEgov DJ I think you're amazing. Haters are always going to hate. Ignore them. The overwhelming majority of this country thinks you are an inspiration. God bless you buddy. Keep spreading hope and love.
Unthinkable. Our brave firefighters put their lives on the line for us — now their families are living a nightmare. Praying for the heroes shot in Idaho and their loved ones. America stands with you. 🇺🇸🙏
