On February 18, 2022 Diversify had their Multicultural Celebration with a Black History portion. On that day D.O Gibson zoomed in from Toronto into the schools Massey and Kelvin. D.O freestyled lyrics from random words generated from 40 different classrooms. THANK TO D.O GIBSON!!

George Floyd was murdered on May 25, 2020 by the knee of a police officer. This was yet another incident of police brutality against an unarmed black man. Our thoughts and prayers are with George and his family. May he rest in peace.

At the History Lesson dolls were made. The next events on the Black History Month Calendar are the Movie night on this coming Friday and the Heart and Soul Concert on Saturday.
Today @bhmwinnipeg BHMCC had their History lesson, and members of Diversify came to support! All three Black MLA's for Manitoba were present and shared their story with everyone.

Richard and Mildred Loving were separated and had to flee the state of Virginia to avoid being imprisoned because they were a biracial couple. However, they challenged the US Supreme Court and struck down laws banning interracial marriage in 1967.
A while ago, we had the pleasure of having Jeremy from the Barbados Association of Winnipeg come talk to us about volunteering, scholarships, Barbados and Rihanna. If you missed the presentation he will be joining us again later in the year 🇧🇧
Today, in Lunch and Learn, we had a guest, Mr. Kuet from ACOMI. He talked about the André Doumbè foundation and scholarship options for volunteering that you can get up to a thousand dollars for! He, also, talked about his background in South Sudan. Thank you, Mr. Kuet!
