KH1, KH2, KH3D, KH3. The game is Sora's story. This is his point of view. The side games are behind the scenes and add more context, although the games I mention does a good job catching the player up
I remember Tetsuya Nomura saying that KH4 will be welcoming to newcomers. I'm honestly curious about how that's going to be possible when so many elements are from 3 mobile games that so many people either never kept up with or heard of.
Deity beings know whats up. King Triton told Sora in KH1 to be careful and not break order. All the villains know as well. It's more of like, if they have no concept of the outside world, should they know?
I dont understand how this is even a thing considering people arent supposed to know about the existence of other worlds yet people from other worlds end up in the underworld from hercules when they die?
Does hades even question that or does he just not care lol
KH fans might kill me but I think the best starting point depends on your interest level.
If you’re already committed to experiencing KH, go release order.
If you’re just getting your feet wet & not sure, try whatever game looks interesting to you & see! It’s not that serious
Vali & Sigurd appearing were not on my KH4 bingo card, holy shit. MOBILE GAMES LORE COMING IN HARD.
Kingdom Hearts 4 is shaping up to be a wild arc!

For the 99.9% of you that didn't experience any of Missing Link, the black Raven feathers seen in the KH4 trailer were used to basically possess others by two characters called Hugin and Munin, named for Odin's ravens.
