In honor of the French people, who have been protesting against the far right these days, today's post is dedicated to Delacroix's "Liberty Leading the People" (1830). Here it is in Hitman (2016), Animal Crossing: New Horizons (2020) and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness (2003).
As a symbol of the fight for freedom and resistance to oppression, this painting has been the subject of numerous reinterpretations, like here on the Palestinian side of the West Bank Wall #freepalestine
