@FiadhBaikal That or the indie space. At least there are games there that still let their female characters look pretty. While ironically being more realistic in a way, because their faces will be caked in dirt and blood when their health is dropped.
@_eastOrb It tries to present him as a nuanced antagonist, with an issue of inequality, but then oopsie daisy he's a fraud I guess inequality was never an issue now.
@Vinnycutefun@TheBasicExpert1 Capcom ADMITTED that they made Leon to be a thirst trap, getting feedback from female employees. Imagine a company saying that about a female character, getting input from male employees, they'd be getting death threats.
@RewindTheWorld0 Guess, in that sense, Aang fit right in because, when he found out he was the Avatar, he bailed on his responsibilities. At least he did eventually accept the burden.
@JamieHumanBeing@Kotaku Quick question, why don't games that started out with female protagonists get the hate then? The ones that are good, obviously. Metroid, Tomb Raider, Portal, etc. Could it be it's not because gamers hate women? Naaaah.
@Kotaku Name it something else and let it stand on its own weight. When you call it God of War, the comparisons to Kratos are inevitable because that's the flipside of brand recognition. They tend to come with expectations.
@FiadhBaikal I don't think a long standing franchise that was built by a male protagonist should be replaced. They've been doing this WAY too much. Make your own franchise, let it stand on its own. Enough with the Trojan Horse tactics.
@1GamewithDave1 As if it was ever a question? It hasn't always had bangers, some like Other M, Federation Force, and Prime 4 are disappointing, but overall a fantastic franchise.
