A lot of people like to describe America as a “Christian nation.” But is Christianity something a nation claims, or something its people embody?

You’re too late. The Rebellion isn’t here anymore. It’s flown away. It’s everywhere now. There’s a whole galaxy out there waiting to disgust you. #Andor
Reagan: “Tariffs destroy prosperity.”
We have shared this before, but it is more relevant today than ever.
Tariffs kill jobs and raise prices wearing a cloak of phony patriotism. #TrumpTradeWar
The Lordship of Jesus Christ - Bryan Kim, Pastor at Ekko Church.
Pastors and scholars from our Faith and Politics Forum in Washington D.C. last August shared their thoughts and wisdom on Christians engaging in the public sphere.
Growing up, I was told that the demise of Christianity would be caused by our country rejecting God.
Now I believe it is actually caused by Christians blatantly rejecting the teachings of Jesus for the sake of political power.
We are actually living in a time where Christians see mercy as offensive, empathy as a sin, and diversity, equity, and inclusion as a threat.
“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness.” -Isaiah 5:20
Lord, have mercy.
“Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan.” -Isaiah 10:1-2
Beware of any Christian movement that demands the government be an instrument of God's wrath but never a source of God's mercy, generosity, or compassion.
My politics are really simple. I just want everyone to have what they need and be free to live according to their own values.
I don’t want my religion dictating your lives. I want my religion to teach me how to love you better.
Let’s commit to each other and to love.
Christians,
Whether your candidate wins or loses, there will still be hurting people who need you to give them hope and be a sober and thoughtful advocate for them.
Don’t let the outcome defeat you or compel you to pretend the battle is won.
Avoid bitterness and triumphalism.
If you keep fusing Christianity with bigotry, racism, misogyny, xenophobia, nationalism, and the worship of political power, you have no one to blame but yourself for people rejecting Christianity in our society.
People simply don’t want anything to do with that, and rightly so.
Declaring “Christ is king!” with your mouth while supporting tyrants with your actions so that they will crush all the people you think are your enemies is the epitome of using Jesus’ name in vain.
The way of Jesus is compassion, not control.
Christians on the right and left are trying to portray their candidate as God’s nominee. They’re using the faith to manipulate others for partisan ends.
Make a case for why your candidate is better, but let’s not become false prophets for political purposes. 🙏🏿
