Hon’ble CM Shri @DKShivakumar sir,

The Cabinet’s decision to amend the Karnataka Government Parks (Preservation) Act, 1975, reportedly allowing the diversion of up to 5% of park land, is deeply concerning.

Our parks are not real-estate assets. They are vital public, ecological and intergenerational assets that must be protected.

Lalbagh, Cubbon Park and thousands of other parks must remain protected - not opened up for commercial or real estate projects.

This move is clearly designed to facilitate projects such as the Tunnel Road by circumventing the proceedings before the Hon’ble High Court.

I urge you to reconsider this amendment and ensure that no park land is diverted without strict safeguards, environmental assessment and meaningful public consultation.

Our green spaces are not meant to be traded, transferred or sacrificed. They belong to the people of Karnataka and to future generations.

• West Bengal STF has arrested Fazle Rabbi Siddiqui from Islampur, near the Siliguri Corridor, for allegedly working as a Pakistani ISI agent.

• He is the brother of TMC leader Zakir Hossain.

• He was arrested in connection with the smuggling of counterfeit currency notes and SIM cards in areas adjacent to the India-Bangladesh border.

Earlier, his name had come up in a smuggling case, but he escaped due to TMC political influence at the time.

INDIA MOVES TO SERVE HAFIZ SAEED IN LAHORE

NIA summons to Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed in the Pahalgam terror attack case will soon be routed through MEA channels and served in Lahore.

Saeed has been chargesheeted for conspiracy and waging war against India. A Jammu special court has already issued a non-bailable warrant against him.

The move under the new BNSS framework is aimed at formally documenting efforts to bring Saeed before the court, potentially paving the way for a trial in absentia under Section 356 if he continues to evade proceedings.

India is using every available legal and diplomatic avenue to pursue the mastermind, while Pakistan shields him from international accountability.

Sayyed Shamshadbano Khairatali (53), a teacher at a Zilla Parishad Urdu school filed this complaint in Latur.

Dipke defamed the school by claiming that students from another school had been brought and made to sit in the classrooms during his visit, and threatened to get the teachers suspended, it alleged.
