Puede que ahora no de miedo porque el espectador se ha “ultraviolentizado” pero en los 70, con The Texas Chain Saw Massacre o Halloween, el horror canalizaba la violencia interna de EE.UU., el desencanto post-Vietnam y la desintegración familiar.

Analizar el terror equivale entonces a leer los síntomas culturales de cada época: qué nos asusta, qué reprimimos, qué culpabilidad compartimos y cómo imaginamos el colapso.
